Ramkota Hotel: Superior Hotel and Personnel

My wife and I arrived at the Ramkota Hotel in Casper, Wyoming on August 14, 2017, and stayed until August 22. We attended an astronomical convention in Casper and stayed for the total solar eclipse.

During that time, we got to know front desk personnel, restaurant staff and a few bartenders quite well. They knew our names and treated us like family. They suggested activities and explained how to get to them. They made sure we knew of hotel offerings. They alerted us to the 5:30 PM Happy Hour with free wine and beer!! And of course, the free pancake breakfast held outside in the hotel parking lot the morning of the eclipse.

But more than that, they spent some time with us when their duties permitted them to do so. When some of our friends trying to observe the eclipse in Nebraska needed to come to Casper at the last minute to view it, they accommodated them, going way beyond what would or could be expected.

The room was large and the bed was very comfortable. They offer a complimentary breakfast with scrambled eggs, French toast, bacon, sausage, biscuits and sausage, cold cereal, bagels, Danish, juices, milk, coffee, ice water…as much as you can eat. The restaurant closes for lunch but you can eat lunch in the bar…same menu as the restaurant’s dinner menu. The sandwiches are outstanding…and large enough to split with your significant other. Try the exceptional sweet potato French fries.

Honestly, we hated to leave. This is the best we have ever been treated at any hotel, anywhere, and we will go out of our way to return.

We stayed here August 19-22 for the Great American Eclipse. We booked late due to shifting weather conditions and were masterfully accommodated even with the fact all rooms had been booked years in advance! Exceptionally comfortable hotel with friendly, caring staff. We felt at home. The hot and generous complementary breakfast was satisfying. They have homemade dressings for salads and made to order meals. They created a special menu for Eclipse eve along with other creative events, like special drinks and trivia games at the bar to win a free round. The parking lot turned into a site to watch the eclipse. Our rooms were spacious. Water stations throughout and cozy areas to meet others and read the paper. They kindly charged their normal rates with applied discounts and did NOT jack up their prices during the eclipse as many hotels did. That's integrity. We plan to come back again, from Pennsylvania! Look for Crystal and Chris at the front desk who will help you with every need.

The Ramkota in Casper Wyoming is a fantastic place to stay if your in Casper. The staff if extremely professional, courteous, friendly and go out of their way to be accommodating. I would like to do a special shout-out to Sean the manager, who went well above and beyond the Call of Duty, to accommodate me and my company. The hotel has a lot of amenities. Indoor swimming pool with water jets and slides for the kids. Full restaurant, and Bar. The hotel looks like it's recently been remodeled. Very comfortable beds and pillows. Highly recommended if you're ever in Casper Wyoming.

Wedding stay at Ramkota

People in Casper regard this hotel as one of the finest. Eh...not so much.

Stayed here as it was the hotel of preference for my niece's wedding. We got a discount, but still paid a fairly high price.

While the city of Casper became smoke free in hotels long ago, this one still reeks of smoke. The halls, the rooms, everywhere smells like long smoldering, cigarette smoke. Maybe they need to switch out the carpets, or something. Perhaps the air systems are coated with years of tar.

Also, the bathtub is about 8 inches above the bathroom floor, which was a bit unsettling, nearly giving me vertigo.

Lastly, the desk chair was not able to adjust to a proper height, so I had to use pillows.

On the bright side, they had a very good breakfast, with excellent green chili.

Great for families on the road!

We stopped here, last minute, on the way home from Yellowstone and it was pretty fancy. They gave us an amazing price for two rooms. We went straight to the pool and hot tub, which was great for kids. If you are looking for a hotel with a big hole filled with water for grown ups this is not your place. The rooms were updated and clean. We were by the highway, but didn't hear the noise much because we were all exhausted.
