Excellent stay in Detmold

Turned up tired on motorbikes and were greeted by helpful staff. Once the motorbikes were in the secure garage we went into the very clean and comfortable rooms.
We the went into the nearby town centre which was nice and busy. A good hotel in a great location, plus the best breakfast we had on our trip.
Would definitely stay there again

My husband and I stayed here for 4 nights. The hotel is clean, receptionist speaks good English, breakfast had plenty of choice and it's handy having use of a car park which has direct access to the hotel. We obviously didn't read the small print as this was €9 per night extra.
The hotel run a green scheme where you put a bag outside your door if you don't want your room cleaning and you are rewarded with an edible treat in your bag! Novel idea.
There was no tea/coffee making facility in the room but there was a machine In reception that you could use freely 24/7.
We didn't use the pool or sauna but the hotel do provide dressing gowns in the room should you require them.
We expected individual quilts / mattresses as we've lived in Germany previously, but we actually had 2 beds together which made having a 'cwtch' uncomfortable. A minor gripe!
Lovely room, good double glazing so no traffic noise, we were comfortable and slept well.

Firstly important this is no longer a Best Western hotel.
Very nicely situated. Close to train station and old city eating houses.
Great spacious room. Good wifi.
Very good breakfast but as before the breakfast room a shambles if too many dinners, be aware this seems to be worse on weekends or holidays.

Great Hotel

To clarify the no air condition, not many places in Germany have air conditioning, however, the room was very comfortable. Large windows to open (very common in Germany) with nice breeze.
Beds were comfortable, room was very clean, bathroom was very clean also.
Hotel has a restuarant that serves a great breakfast, with traditional German sevings as well as typical American items (eggs, sauage, bacon, etc)
Overall great experience, close to local sight seeing and local business.

A warm experience

In both ways it was a warm experience: professional and kind receptionists and staff, clean rooms and good breakfast. But the rooms were not air conditioned, only some ventilation present. Although it was just a bit over 20 C outside, the rooms were too warm. The only cool place was the pool, that was nice and big enough.
