One night family stopover

We had a lovely stay at the best western. We had a family room which has a separate little bunk bed room for the kids! This was lovely and the girls loved having a bit of space and privacy. Breakfast was great and staff were helpful and attentive. The reception staff were also really friendly, providing jugs of milk and always smiling! Outdoor pool is a delight in the hot weather and kids spent a long time enjoying it. Being July weather is warm so rooms are quite warm. Once we figured out how to fully open the windows this made sleeping much more comfortable ( tho the dawn call from the seagulls was no surprise!!) we didn't have a view and glass was frosted but this didn't bother us as only in room to sleep.
Would recommend this hotel if you have kids as they have super family rooms.

Short Stay

3 nights stay. Nothing fancy but more than adequate. Good car parking and great breakfasts. Nice and clean with all you could want. Tea/coffee in rooms and pleasant staff.
Central for our purposes - Eden Project, Fowey, Duchy Gardens was really worth a visit - what a range of Orchids and other most unusual plants.

Long Break to Cornwall

WE decided to visit the lost gardens of Helligan and spend some time visiting other gardens and beaches in the area. The Fowey Valley was an ideal location as a base and was also dog friendly. The staff were very accommodating and service was excellent. We did not have time to try the outdoor pool. would recommend this hotel

Two night stay

A quiet location in a charming town. Hotel room - No12 - was clean and comfortable with one major proviso. We visited during this June's heat wave. The room was south-west facing in full afternoon sun. With no air-conditioning sleep was very difficult.
The food was excellent. The outdoor swimming pool was very welcome in the heat. The hotel staff were pleasant and efficient.
The hotel décor was showing its age, a general smartening up is needed - ie: stained and worn carpet in restaurant and bar areas, tiles missing in the swimming pool, etc.

Fantastic

Just returned from a 2 night B & B break. Had seen mixed reviews on here but can quite honestly say the place is brilliant. The room was immaculate, nice size & every amenity you can think of. The free wifi access is great, much better than some other hotel chains. The buffet breakfast is amazing, so much to choose from & very tasty. The proper cornish tea & coffee is gorgeous & not scrimped on like most hotels. The staff are very friendly, polite & accommodating of any requests. The only tiny little gripe was due to the heat most windows were open which led to a lot of door slamming as they are self shutting (including our own oooops sorry neighbours) the doors could with a buffer to save the noise if like us you forget to hold the door. All in all a fantastic trip & will definitely visit again.
