What People are saying
Excellent
Julie Son 04/08/2017 21:47Clean, comfortable, friendly
Walking distance to city centre, plenty of bars and restaurant and the Indian restaurant attached to the hotel served excellent food and friendly staff,
The only negative I can say about the hotel room, is the TV was very small and the remote was temperamental, all in all a good stay, if in Newcastle again I would definitely stay at the Ryoken.
Newcastle stay
Barry Jon 01/08/2017 16:18This hotel has a lot of parking spaces although they did seem to get full in late evening ,we walked to Newcastle city centre so left the car in the car park ,Its says in the review 10 mins walk to city centre its more like 20-25 it depends how you walk, Excellent hotel ,An indian restaurant by the hotel which we did not go in .Room nice size .
Nice enough, great food.
IvorD1954on 28/07/2017 17:57A nice little hotel with parking and attached to an amazing restaurant.
The place is clean and tidy and the rooms are well kept. All the staff I met were neat, tidy and well groomed, adding to this they were all genuinely very friendly and pleasant.
I will stay again.
Great location, cheap n cheerful
Richard Pon 12/07/2017 18:05Location was easily walkable from centre, but without the hustle and bustle of the centre. Nice, clean, spacious rooms. Good service. Great Indian restaurant downstairs. Well worth the money and would stay again.
Lovely, accessible hotel!
LVCsevenon 27/06/2017 23:09We were going to a gig in town and decided to stay at the Ryokan as it was a reasonable price and had ample parking. Fast check in and check out, lovely spacious rooms, clean and tidy. The bed was large and comfy!
The only (small) criticism I would give is that it's such a shame fabric shower curtains are used, they're just not nice to shower with. It definately lets the spec of the bathroom down and would look and feel so much nicer with a glass screen.
The city centre is an easy 10 minute walk away so we didn't bother with taxis either way.
We didn't manage to get up in time for breakfast so can't comment on that.
We would definitely use the Ryokan in future.
