A Nightmare...
Viktoriya Ton 21/07/2017 01:05Arrived at 10:30 pm., hoping to get the room, we got unpleasantly surprised when the room assigned for us was occupied by another guest when we entered the room. The experience was nothing but shocking when I came down to reception desk and receptionist just gave another keys without even trying to apologize. Incompetence of team members, zero understanding of guest's needs at the primitive level shows that the hotel needs good management to look after its employees and guests.
Seems it couldn't get worse, but I was wrong when I opened the door to another room and find out that another room was on the 5th floor on the rooftop where your head is almost touching the ceiling and AC isn't working. So I went down again and staff informed me that it's the last room in the hotel available until I insist to recheck the availability.
Hotel is in poor condition with limited facilities. Breakfast set-up is average but hygiene is poor with flies around the food in the buffet.
Unfortunately the entire stay was prepaid, so I'm unable to change the hotel as it's an exhibition week here in Düsseldorf and majority of the hotels are fully booked by now.
OK but not what I would expect for this price

The hygiene, bed and facilities are OK but we sometimes felt that they were just missing some details to justify the star rating and the price we had to pay. Examples are: friendliness of the staff (you had to ask for everything, not pro active) and the breakfast which was OK but nothing more.

Andykite61on 06/06/2017 21:09We have stayed here before, booked again for a short two night break. The hotel is so central easy walk to river and town to loads of life and restaurants. On arrival we parked in the hotel car park reservation not guaranteed so take a chance big parking area. Our room overlooked the main road but not a problem as can't hear the traffic. Beds really comfortable and room was spacious and bright. Walking to town was about 15 min, breakfast was full of choice and always being restocked so fresh. Staff friendly and polite, would stay again and recommend as reasonable cost per night

Bullmeron 20/05/2017 11:12My room was in the attic of the hotel, the room was large, good views over the skyline and rather hot. My colleagues had rooms on lower floors which they said were very cramped.
Breakfast was OK, a German buffet as you would expect.
WiFi was troublesome, you need to get a pass printed by reception which expires every day, then you need another one.
The Savoy, it is not.....
Gazpacho68on 06/05/2017 15:41Absolute bog standard hotel in heavily populated Asian area of the City. Good transport into town with metro station two minute walk and just two stops to Konigs Alee. Loads of restaurants nearby. Room was small and really dated. Dirty curtains, mould on walls. Not kept well. Good for a short visit to rest your head but no more. Staff quick and helpful. Wifi did not work at all during my two night stay.
