Great Hotel in Town Centre

Stayed here for 5 nights whilst attending World Sheepdog Trials. This hotel had everything we needed and very clean too. The hotel is in the town square and every Thursday there is a great market and a parade with people dressed up in national costume. There was an international folk festival on too whilst we were there. Plenty restaurants around the centre. We ate one night in the hotel restaurant and it was very good. Bar prices high but seems to be same all over. Breakfasts were ample and they will also provide a breakfast box should you be leaving early. Staff very friendly. Would certainly recommend this hotel should you be visiting Schagen area.

Rooms are very spacious, if a little dated.Some have nice views of the moated castle annex.
The restaurant and bar areas offer pleasant and tasteful surroundings to relax in.
Completely at the centre of all things in schagen.

Had to work near Schagen so I got a room booked in this hotel.
I slept in the old castle tower, that was fun.
My college and me didn't had any soap in the room, and when we asked for it the guy couldn't find the soap so in the end... No soap.

Okay for one night.

Stayed in this hotel for one night. Room was satisfactory but apart from that nothing to write home about. My advice would be better to stay hungry than eat the breakfast. Scrambled eggs tasted like cold soap.

Ideally situated

I stayed in the main hotel and found the room to be spacious, modern and clean but with a rather claustrophobic view.
Airy dining area, roomy yet cosy bar and pleasant reception.
Very well situated adjacent to the main town square and a wonderful church that plays a tune on the hour and every quarter - but not through the night!
Plenty of restaurants full of locals if you do not want to eat at the hotel. The hotel evening food is good and the breakfast a mix of cooked bacon and eggs or the full continental. Lovely bread.
