What People are saying

Very disappointing

Horrocksjonon 02/08/2017 19:47

Very disappointed that with only approximately eight guests in the breakfast room the staff managed to forget that one of the guests existed. After 20 minutes I asked whether they had forgotten to bring my breakfast (although how this is possible with an electronic ordering system, I am at a loss to understand) Assured they hadn't but after a further ten minutes it was obvious they had. Trying to find a member of staff was difficult as they were all hiding in the kitchen. Disappointed that no attempt was mad to compensate for a poor staff experience

Stayed over night as went to water world and Alton Towers

Firstly the reception staff were friendly, we checked into our room which was clean and tidy, and on appearance better than what i was expecting. We had booked a family room as me and my friend were having a weekend away with our daughters.

I decided me and my daughter would sleep in the sofa bed as my friend had driven. The bed was the most uncomfortable thing i have ever had to sleep on (or in this case attempt to sleep on)

The mattress was so thin i could feel the springs and bars poking through, there was a gap where the pillows (also really thin) were suppose to be, i had to fold up towels to offer some sort of support. It was that bad i think sleeping on the floor would have been more comfortable. To top it off every time me or my daughter moved the bed would creak and feel like it was going to collapse.

This wasn't the end of my problems, we were on the ground floor and the room above us was very noisy, every time they walked around it sounded like they were going to come through the floor, bearing in mind this was from about 1:30 in the morning and again at around 5.

I had around 2 hours sleep, and i was not only very tired but i had horrendous back pain which put a dampener on what was suppose to be a fun day out at Alton Towers.

We told the receptionist in the morning our issues, and although she as sympathetic and said she would speak to management i feel like this wont be taken seriously. Considering our lack of sleep, i feel that some form of compensation is needed.

I look forward to hearing a response from management to see if our complaint is being handled accordingly.

very dissatisfied

Alton Towers Break

Gemma Mon 25/06/2017 15:18

My friend and I stayed at this hotel for 1 night as we were going to Alton Towers the next day. We booked a twin room which was spacious and clean. The shower was very powerful which was great. We had dinner at the restaurant and sat outside. The food was cheap and plenty of choice on the menu. The food was OK, i would say its around the same standard as a Wetherspoons. The beds were comfortable.

The only complaint was that the room was very very hot, we ended up having to sleep on top of the duvet as it was so warm. It was a very hot day, we had the window open and the radiator was not switched on. It made getting ready in the morning very uncomfortable e.g. drying my hair. Also the towels the hotel supplies are 1 large bath sheet and 1 small hand towel, a girl can't use a small hand towel to wrap her hair haha.

We would stay here again on our next trip to Alton Towers.
