What People are saying

Small but nice

Terence_ChanKKon 11/02/2017 05:26

Hotel is located near to Yonezawa station, just 5 mins walk. Town is located at another side of exit. Seems it is a residential area, but a supermarket is near around.

Hotel room is small but comfortable, it should be normal practice in Japan. Clean, and enough facilities. I didn't try but hotel provides a Jacuzzi.

Breakfast is included for my stay. Food is simple but tasting good.
For a budget or transit stay, it is a good choice.

Modern, budget-friendly hotel in good location

Recently visited with my family for a 4-night stay. Pleasantly surprised to learn it was in walking distance from the Yonezawa train station and conveniently located behind a shopping plaza that included a 24-hour supermarket (Max-Valu), drugstore, DAISO (like a dollar store but much better), laundromat, bank and ramen shop, among other things.

Rooms felt small by Western standards but came with typical hotel amenities including a TV, mini-fridge, free in-room WiFi and a hot water boiler with green tea. Hotel staff appeared friendly though I did not deal with them directly as my mother did all the talking (she is Japanese). The free breakfast was actually pretty good and included an assortment of Japanese and Western offerings (though primarily Japanese).

The hotel appears to cater to businessmen as there was a public bath and "relaxation room" for men only which was a bit disappointing for us women. I also wished there was a gym on-site and maybe a second elevator as only one elevator in the entire hotel seemed a bit slow at times. In any case, it was a pleasant stay and I'd return in the future.

TIP: the windows in the rooms do not open unless you obtain an actual window "handle" from the front desk.

Located in the back area of train station

A short walk from the back of the train station in a quiet residentual area. This is like a businessmen’s hotel, with small but clean and comfortable, efficient rooms. A daily, excellent Japanese breakfast buffet was included in my hotel package. The staff speaks English and is very helpful and friendly. Free WIFI in the rooms. Not many restaurants on this side of the track. You’ll need to go to the other side of the train station.

Best Western Yonezawa Japonaise

Other than the language barrier, I enjoyed my stay very much. However, the language barrier can be a show stopper here. They don't speak any English at all. The free beer was very good. Typical of most Japanese hotels, the rooms are very small and only accomodate 2 people. If you have a family with you, you need to book 2 rooms.
