Business trip
lylian39on 17/08/2017 13:50I stayed twice at the Windmill whilst participating to a training course in Meriden. The hotel is quite comfortable and well serviced. There is a large Golf course, though I do not play myself. I stayed in two different rooms and though the bed are comfortable, the bathroom were quaint and the bath taps in need of refurbishment - never mind the awful 'shower' curtain.
I found the gym facility superior to most hotels I have visited recently. The staff was welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was great, with a large choice of English breakfasts, omelettes, continental and cereals. Dining at the Fairway restaurant was not my favourite. However I really enjoyed the food and choices at the Cellar below. Service can be a little slow but the staff was helpful, polite and very welcoming there too.
Great Escape
AlisonD1969on 17/08/2017 10:38Stopped here for one night and it was lovely. The facilities were great, we used the pool etc and it was very relaxing. The room was lovely and the bed very comfy. The decor around this hotel was lovely. Would recommend to anyone.
Wedding
laura1242on 15/08/2017 08:32Stayed here night before and night of wedding. Good value. Friday classed as 'shoulder night' for only £42.50 for double room with breakfast for two!
Staff great particularly in Cellar Bar Friday evening catering for 24 all paying in small groups. Well done. Lovely venue. Pool good. Golf course played. Good time was had by all. Reservations team efficient and all worked well considering so many changes over the previous months. Thank you.
Lovely Spa but inattentive staff. Broken heater.
manhas549on 14/08/2017 20:10Myself and a friend fancied going ob a little spa break without having to pay a fortune. Through spaseekers we came across the best western plus the windmill and looking at photos, it seemed like a beautiful place which it is.
The biggest let down for us both was that tohe heating system was clearly broken. Either that or the card slot system was faulty. The receptionist failed to answer the phone despite me ringoing for quite a few minutes. If she couldn't have answered, fetch someone to take the call. To not answer is a bit ignorant.
She did guve me another card which STILL didn't work!! The room in itself was lovely with beautiful furniture.
Staff need to respond better to customer concerns.
Wedding
Gary Con 14/08/2017 18:46Absolutely fantastic wedding at the Windmill Hotel. Sam and the team did a great job throughout. Kept everything on plan and made for a most special day.
The ceremony in the chapel was great, better than a church, the food great and back-drop for the photos impressive.
