ConnoisseurCharlotteon 14/07/2017 02:24We loved our large suite with a comfortable king size bed and plenty of room to put everything. Great multiple head shower and family size hot tub. Coffee maker and water boiler in room, nice amenities. Very quiet at night. Glad the room had A/C as it was a bit warm. A very nice breakfast is included. The staff is awesome here, they all have a wonderful can-do attitude! Nice bar area and bartender too. The location is perfect, just a few minutes to the train station and to the center of this historical town. Parking is very convenient in the back of the hotel. Will definitely stay there again when we come back to the area.

Idea for us to visit Moto GP at TT Assen as it is only about an hours ride away.
Could do with air conditioning and a better menu in the bar area..

Kind staff, but relatively small and noisy rooms
Eva Mon 17/05/2017 15:43Wientjes is a former family hotel and that shines through in the attention that the staff pays to its guests: kind, personal and not too formal. The location is perfect: a two minute walk from the station and 5 minutes from the city centre.
However, it is this location that causes a little problem. It turns out to be the main road for students that enjoyed a night out. If you sleep on the front-side of the hotel, you will be well aware of their enthousiasm.
Furthermore, the rooms are relatively small and have a small closet, so be sure to travel light.
But to end on a positive note: the breakfast buffet is worth getting up early and as said before, the staff is a gem.
