Excellent quality food but the worlds smallest pudding
ukfisherton 28/08/2017 21:46We went as a large family group for dinner on Sunday and plumpt for the 2 course deal.
We all had Sunday dinner which was very nice, the beef melted in your mouth and the bacon and leek sauce was an interesting addition. The amount of veg was not huge and we could have done with more plus if you don't have toast beef as one of our party did they charge 95p for a Yorkshire.
Overall everybody enjoyed their mains and would on the standard of food come back again.
The puddings also were good with exception of mine which was supposed to be a caramel slice topped with milk chocolate with cream to which on arrival it was so slim I could hardly make it out, and to then make a mockery it came with a full jug of cream. (Enough to drown it many times over)
Overall everybody enjoyed their mains based on the standard of food and the surroundings would come back again and just not have a pudding.

Traveller_SMPon 28/08/2017 10:39We enjoyed some really good food here twice in the past week and would defo recommend the stake and ale pie and the sausages in Yorkshire pudding! Best pub for miles without a doubt so don't miss the chance if you're in the area!
A marvelous meal!

We ordered 3 classic Welsh dishes: dwymen pie, grilled lamb chops, and lamb -pei cymraeg with scrappy chips. Delicious! Servers were very attentive and friendly. This was my favorite place to dine during our Wales trip this time.

We will be making a return visit.
Great overnight stay
o11i3on 22/08/2017 17:43Great olde pun with tons of atmosphere. Parking was free about 5 mins down the road. Room was great clean modern and comfortable. Breakfast was top notch with choice of cereal, toast, and cooked for the hearty types. Evening meal was nice too mainly pub type food- I wouldn't say top class but a nice meal. Choice of beers was great. One note to travellers most restaurants seem to be closed Sunday and Mondays a bit of a fail if you want choice on either of these days for dinner.
