Late Christmas present
sharon lon 15/08/2017 14:35We used a Christmas voucher to book never having been to Darlington and it was our ruby wedding anniversary. The hotel was lovely the food excellent. Reception was very helpful regarding nearby attractions. We enjoyed two nights here both days had weddings being held but they were not intrusive the staff are friendly and the grounds are lovely for a walk.

We received a warm welcome on arrival, the staff were very polite and most helpful. Our room way spotless and well equipped , after a good nights sleep we went for breakfast where we were greeted by the staff who showed use the layout, The breakfast was first class. We really enjoyed our stay and could not fault it in any way.

The staff were all very friendly asked If we could check in at 13:00 hrs even though check in was not till 15:00 hrs they checked room was ready and gave us the keys
The room was great

Celebrating our Ruby Wedding Anniversary
trevor318on 14/08/2017 16:29We celebrated our Ruby Wedding Anniversary here with 36 guests of family and friends and were totally satisfied with every aspect of the evening. Everyone involved, from the events manager to the reception staff, made this a celebration to remember. The bar staff were great. The waiting staff were efficient, serving everyone very quickly so no one had to wait for their food, which was cooked to perfection. Throughout the evening all the staff were always pleasant and nothing was too much trouble to them. Nothing fell short of perfect and my wife and I would recommend the Blackwell Grange Hotel.

I was booked in for evening meal, bed & breakfast
I agree with other reviewers that externally it is a beautiful building with great grounds but it is a little dated internally, however the hotel and room was very clean and very comfortable. As I was on my own I opted for both my evening meal and breakfast in my room, the food and room service was excellent. The staff were polite, courteous and very helpful and I would not hesitate to book a room again and will be back in a fortnight on business again.
