What People are saying

Clean and friendly

zoefletcher2017on 23/07/2017 16:12

This was a short budget holiday for my daughter and I, and we were very pleased with the little hotel as soon as we arrived. The greeting was very friendly, and all staff spoke more than adequate English, and helped with any questions we had about the city, island transport and anything else we asked about.
Our room was on the front of the hotel, on the third floor, which was served by a lift. We had a small but rewarding city view from the window, which was also double glazed to keep out any noise if it were to bother anyone.
The bedding was super clean and was changed completely every two nights, the room was also cleaned every morning.
The free wifi was excellent and I spoke to my husband easily everyday, connection never failed, and it was quite fast. There was also a decent sized tv in the room with satalitte connection, so we also managed to find a few English program s including the Disney channel if you have children.
All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay, and so did my daughter, and if I go back to Las Palmas, this is where I'll be staying.

Grim

This is a hostel, not a Hotel and even pretty grim by hostel standards. A dirty and smelly place, bathroom filthy beds the must uncomfy ever. Don't think if asking for another pillow they will just shout no at you and make you feel like a naughty child. Incredibly noisy. Wifi is non existent. Near the beach but get constantly hassled by beggars. Would rather stay at home than visit this place again

Save yourself the trouble

This is a pretty grim hotel in which I have been decreasingly happy to stay, either as it gets worse or perhaps as I (and the owners) get older!
Shabby and pretty dirty with plastic sheets under cheap bedding, towels which smell as if they have been washed at too low a temperature (hardly surprising as most of the water in the hotel is cold) light bulbs missing, the list is endless..
Grumpy staff...a smell of cigarettes and death hangs over the reception. A bit of fake Spanish bonhomie...
It's cheap. Er..that's it

Friendly and Perfect budget stay

Spent over there one week and may say - hotel costs asking price. Incredibly helpful and friendly stuff (i came without luggage forgotten by Norwegian air shuttle in helsinki), tierd and dissapointed, but got such a warm and friendly support!!!), thank you one more time!) , very clean and spacy room (at least my room was so), it was standart double/twin room for single traveller.
Basic but clean wc/shower with hot water at anytime, clean towels, room service everyday, ( i didnt even need it :-) surprising balcony with ocean view ;)) in the end of street (few hundred metres), big wardrobe, flat-tv, table, couple chairs, what else you need for short holiday spending days, out? Just wifi signal was bit low (sometimes it was not at all) at least on my 3-d floor. So if wifi connection 24/7 really important for you - ask the room from lower floor. And one more unpleasant (sort of but not really) - just one power socket in whole room ;)) located on the opposite to bed (and table) wall. So i solved the problem by moving small night table to this wall. Beds are really good quality to sleep , not soft but not hard and exactly what im used to. Yes, there are some noise from the street over the nights and by early mornings but it didnt bother me at all more than im quite ligjt sleeper. Just once (from 6 nights) i've been using earplugs. Slept all over the nights with open balcony door (January).
Location is really amazing - few hundred meteres to the beach, local supermarket Dino with cheap prices, lot of small shops (almost all running by chinese owners), food markets, bars and cofee places. Best coffee is just around the corner to the left - straight opposite bus stop. Buses run to city centre, department store El Corte Ingles, Catalina park, etc just 7-10 min ride but by walk it will take about 15-20 min. So everything is close, location is really comfortable.
I may highly recoomend Blanca Paloma for travellers with realistic attitude, those who are not expecting 4-5 stars accomodation/ service by such a price. So ALL IS WELL!
I will be back again for more short breaks, Las palmas is an amazing point. :-)

I'm not fussy but . . .

We stayed here at Christmas. I appreciate this is a budget hotel but I still didn't think it value for money.

The good thing about the hotel is the proximity to Las Canteras beach which is just a few minutes walk away. There are also some nice places to eat nearby.

But I wouldn't stay here again. Our room was at the front and very noisy. There was no ceiling fan and it was very stuffy. I slept really badly. In fact on day 3 I got some over the counter sleeping pills from a local chemist!

The balcony was tiny. The lift was broken for a part of our stay. There wasn't on extra pillow.

If doing B&B you get vouchers for breakfast at a local cafe, but the food was lukewarm and the sandwiches were horrible.

I know it is a family run hotel but I don't need to smell what they've had for their dinner. One night the whole place reeked of fish.

It felt like backpacker hostel. I'm ok with budget hotels but this felt below that level for the price. Would not recommend.
