Fab holiday!

Erinchaon 15/08/2017 18:26

Just returned from a weeks holiday with a 7 year old and an 11 year old and had a fab time!
We originally booked as self catering but after a day at the hotel we noticed there wasn't much outside of the hotel so we upgraded to all inclusive which was 51€ per adult per day and 21€ per child per day. I would definitely recommend all inclusive! A lot of branded spirits were included in all inclusive you just had to request these when ordering. Could not complain about the food at all. The only "bad" meal we had was the Italian restaurant. The starters and deserts are a buffet type but you order the main course from a set meal. There wasn't much option and not a lot for children. The main buffet restaurant was lovely. Some food was cooked in front of you while you waited. We would go for tea around 7.15 and be seated straight away but any later than 7.30 and people would be queuing out of the door. They also had a snack bar for lunch where you could make your own toasties or they had burgers or hot dogs. We also went to the Spanish restaurant where you book the day before for this. There was 2 guys playing live music and the food was tapas. It was very nice and very filling! You finished one course and they brought another out.

The kids club on site was fab!!! Those entertainers never stopped throughout the day and night. There was a "maxi club" for 5-8 year olds then a "super mega club" for 9-12 year olds. The clubs were 10.00-13.00 then 15.00-17.00. Night time entertainment was as you would expect but still very good. There is table tennis, football court, tennis court and mini golf on site. On a Wednesday they have "club day" where they have a zip wire, face painting, tshirt painting, bouncy castles and water bounty castles. On a Friday there was a football tournament at 9pm for 9-12 year olds.

On a night time we sat on the self service tables so we went to the bar ourselves and got served no problem where people sitting in the other seats waited a while to be served.

With us being self catering when booking our room was directly behind the stage. So if you wanted to go to bed before 11.30 then you could still hear the entertainment.

We got up around 7 to put our towels down as the hotel is so big there are so many other guests getting loungers. There was 4 pools in total. A kids pool with slides (but no sun loungers) then a large pool with a pool bar where the kids club used to do some activities. There was a pool further down which was right at reception and next to the Italian snack bar for lunch. They did adult games in this pool. Then there was a smaller pool hidden away at the back. They say this is adult only but there was children there when we were there but not as lively as the other pools.

Wifi only worked in the reception area (this may not be an issue to some but with an 11 year old it was for us!) there was a tv in reception with a bar there too so when football was on we could watch it in there. The reception bar is a nightmare to get served though you do wait a while!

Rooms were cleaned daily and they were very clean and spacious. Only other issue is you can't check in until 14.00. We arrived at 11.00 and had to leave our cases in the waiting room and sit in the reception bar. As you can imagine at this time of day it was really warm so that was a bit of a pain.

Overall a great holiday! I wouldn't return myself as I don't like going to the same place twice but I would highly recommend this for families.

Fantastic Resort

Our 3rd time at this resort and never fails to deliver. Ideal for families with children of all ages. Lots of activities via the kid's clubs for the children or just chill out around the quiet pool. Food is great and lots of choices, the restaurant is a bit noisy with the hustle and bustle of getting everyone in and out so if you expect a quiet evening meal this is not for you. There are 2 other restaurants on site one Italian and one Spanish.

We've just returned from a fantastic week at this resort with a 9 year old and 3 year old. This place is perfect for families. The apartment was very clean and well equipped for a family. Towels were changed every day and the room cleaned. We stayed in block N and were worried about noise from the evening entertainment but it was not an issue. Views from the balcony were lovely - we had a view of one of the pools and of the sea. The main pools were lovely and although they were busy they didn't feel it. We had no problems getting sunbeds although we did make sure our towels were down by 8am. The pirate ship pool was great for the kids.
The restaurants did feel busy but if you get there fairly early you won't have a problem. We had to queue for some foods as they are cooked fresh in front of you but it was never a problem. There were plenty of options for the kids to choose from. The puddings were amazing! It was also good that you could eat at the snack bar so you didn't have to have a heavy meal at each meal time. The snack bars were less busy.
The beach is beautiful but is quite a walk. It would be tricky if you had a pushchair or find walking hard. Our three year old managed the rocky path and steps with no problems. The sunbeds on the beach are quite costly though.
We stayed for the kids entertainment in the evening which they enjoyed. For adults though it's very dull as it's basically the same thing each day, they just change the costumes. The staff try hard to interact with all the kids though. The adult entertainment starts at 9.45 so we didn't see much of that. (3 year old needed bed!). Our kids didn't want to try the kids club in the day.
All staff were very friendly and helpful. Transfer took an hour from the airport with no stops.

This is a good four star hotel which we would recommend. The only things we would say are that it wouldn't be great if you had a pushchair or wheelchair as there are steps everywhere. Also the kids entertainment is very dull in the evenings and there is little else to do in the immediate area. It would have been good to have a variation on what they currently offer the children.

If you have a family, this place is for you.

Just come back after a fantastic week, read some of the reviews before going & was slightly nervous but have to say, after spending a week there I'm struggling to agree with the negative ones.

The resort is huge so it's understandable that the restaurants would be busy, get there early and there's no issues.

If you have a family it's perfect, 4 pools, 3 very child friendly with a pirate ship for the kids in one of them, loads of facilities for older kids like tennis courts, a football court and even gym, only real negative is the WiFi is poor but you're on holiday, doubt you'd be glued to your device.

In the evening the kids entertainment is fun (although a little repetitive) but the adult entertainment was pretty ropey, a couple of the bands can only be described as X Factor rejects but worse, the singing would have had the red button being pressed on BGT.

The beach is a short walk away, there's a dirt road to walk down but there is a short cut round the back of the hotel which takes out most of the bumpy ground, the beach itself is beautiful, clear water and a lovely little beach bar.

The food was great although you had to be quick because of the volume of people at the hotel, it ran out but they'd soon replace it, the deserts were lovely and the drinks were branded which was nice as you could fee them! One small gripe was the adults eating the food from the kids station forcing it to run out quickly, grown adults eating smile faces and crisky chicken, I kid you not.

All in all, a fantastic holiday at a fantastic resort, staff were very friendly and helpful, very sad to be home, if you want a quiet holiday then this place is not for you so can have no real complaints if you go there expecting it to be mellow, we loved it as did the kids, money well spent.
