Surprisingly Impressed
on 17/08/2017 03:40Not a huge choice in hotels when visiting this area. This hotel was quaint, nostalgic, and very well kept. Attention to detail the moment we arrived. Valet parking luggage taken out of your car and taken straight up to your room. Ice bucket already full of ice. Very comfortable bed. Live jazz in the evening. Would definitely stay again.
History and Luxury
Rosie Non 16/08/2017 21:35Had the opportunity to stay at the Blennerhassett on a recent visit to my hometown. Had wanted to stay for some time and this was my chance. My room was spacious, super clean, beautifully appointed and far more than I had expected. I am very familiar with the history of the hotel and couldn't wait to see it's newest life. I was so pleased. I was in what is called the old part or original hotel which lent to the historic feeling. Did not get to see the rooms in the new section.
I do have one complaint - the street noise was obvious and for a small town seemed to intrude all night. Not sure what the fix for street rooms could be (I was on 3rd floor) to make them quieter. Just thought I'd better mention it.
The staff was so sophisticated and accommodating, I was pleasantly surprised at that.
Great stay
Flyboywifeon 16/08/2017 16:58We were traveling to Cleveland Ohio and found this wonderful hotel on TripAdvisor. Is was everything we wanted and more. If your in the area you should consider staying here it is full of history. The room we had was very nice and comfortable.
Historic charm with amazing accommodations
Emily Ron 14/08/2017 05:31My mom and I recently stayed here with my baby. I used to come here as a child and the place still remains charming and is even more accommodating! The hotel is downtown so you pull your car up to the front and a bell boy will meet you in front ready with a cart to help you unload. Then he parks your car for you and stores your keys for you free of charge (tip is customary). He waits while you check in and the follows you to your room and unloads. We had asked for a pack and play for the baby and they had it already in the room and set for us. When you're ready to check out the pull your car up front and come up with the cart and load for you. Very nice! Plus hotel is old and historic! Things are well kept up and the beds are very cozy so is the room. Bathrooms are updated and modern, and so are the rooms yet you still get that nice historic charm!
Great hotel
981Lindaon 13/08/2017 23:40Stayed here with our 15 year old granddaughter since we love Historic Hotels. Very nice and appeared to be completely updated. Staff were friendly and it was in a great location with their own back parking lot. Lots of flowers outside in pots. Outdoor seating was very nice although we chose not to eat at the hotel as it was a tad pricey. Instead we took the 15 minute ride across the Ohio River (bridge is right around the corner) to Marietta, Ohio where we visited the Lafayette Hotel, another historic hotel, so my granddaughter could have her vintage photograph taken. ( Old time photograph studio is located in their basement). We ate at their small grill afterwards which was reasonably priced.
Our room was$139 for two full beds plus tax. If we did it again, I would stay two nights in Parkersburg. There is lots to see and do. Blennerhassett Island and museum could easily take one day. The hotel is also right around the corner from the museum and the boat you take to the island. Breakfast was not included.
