Anniversary and Birthday getaway weekend. My husband and I enjoyed the peace and quiet. Suggest you bring and make your own breakfast if you want a hot one.
Carol and Skeeter where delightful and made us feel comfortible and very infirmities
We went horse back riding enjoyed petting all the animals. I loved the outdoors.
We drove over to Carol's restaurant on Saturday evening and enjoyed the great food.
Highly recommended if you love being outdoors and the country.

We couldn't have scripted a more unique and perfect weekend than the one we had here. There is something magical about getting back to a simpler time that allows you to look inwards and rediscover yourself or the love you share with your soulmate. At Blisswood you couldn't help but fall in love again like it was the first time.
Carol and her team take every step imaginable to meet any needs you might have, while respecting your free space and time to disappear from the world. Skeeter, who brought us lunch and dinner for two days, couldn't have been more pleasant if we dreamed up in our own heads. Full of excitement and life he really showed us what Blisswood aims to be. We walked away with tons of memories and a new friend.
I highly recommend checking Blisswood out. Take a step back into time and out into nature. You'll be pleasantly surprised with the magic created inside you and the new person you walk away as.
Peace and Quiet in a Beautiful Setting

I spent one night in the Magnolia Suite, and thoroughly enjoyed the peace and solitude. The bed was extremely comfortable, and the cabin was generously sized and very clean. This is a bucolic rural setting, complete with cattle and wide open spaces. For a bed and breakfast off a dusty dirt road, it was surprisingly luxurious, including the Jacuzzi tub and thick towels. The breakfast was simple, consisting of pre-made snack food and bagel, and in retrospect, it would have been fine to skip it all together. I didn't see a single other person during my stay, which was perfect for me. I am basing my rating on my expectations. Of course, if you are expecting the Four Seasons, you've chosen the wrong place, but if you want a lovely country weekend with simple pleasures, this place is just right. Since I have family in the area, I will definitely be back.
Anniversary Gettaway

We came for an anniversary and were looking for a place to get away from the hustle of the city. BlissWood was amazing for this! We stayed in the Mystic Woods cabin, which had a private outdoor jacuzzi in the woods which was so nice! We went horseback riding, had a picnic, and an in-room couples massage. Everything was great! We made our own breakfast and grilled out for dinner. There isn't a ton of food options nearby, so cooking your own food made sense for us. There was no wi-fi or TV in the cabin, which is exactly what we were looking for. Thanks for a great getaway!
Excellent break in rural Texas

As you can see from my other reviews, I am normally a Four Seasons/Ritz Carlton traveller, so this was a big jump to do something different on a long weekend layover in Houston. Well - I didn't regret it at all - we had a blast! We were a family of four (with a 19 and 17 year old) and drove from Houston - which was very easy. We rented the entire Dog Trott House, and simply had to arrive at the lodge, as everything was open and ready for us. We had dinner on both nights at the lovely rustic and friendly restaurant in Cat Spring and loved the two days of 'ranch' style activities we did from horse riding to feeding the animals, and from archery to shooting. Even though it was hot and the middle of the summer, the rooms had great air conditioning and everything you could need. Most importantly was the very friendly staff - who made the whole thing unforgettable.
