Friendly young staff
Peter Mon 10/04/2017 08:31On my Jura-Höhenweg hike I spend a night in this really nice Hotel. It is located very central just across the railway station and it is easy to find. The check in was very quick and the young lady very friendly and efficient. The room is good and clean. I had an excellent sleep. The breakfast buffet had everything you may wish. The hotel has a nice garden where I had my yummy dinner. I can recommend to stay at the Blue City Hotel.
Fine, but relatively expensive
ChrisHaenenon 02/03/2017 11:10I would have rated this 4/5 perhaps, but paying nearly 250 euro's tips the balance. The location is very convenient, next to the station (no noise), right across the ABB and GE/ALSTOM sites and the revamped Trafo building. Rooms are very spacious but a bit boring and, more importantly, I could not figure out the ventilation. Was there any? It was incredibly warm in the room. Service is very friendly, generous breakfast buffet.
Too much expensive !!
Arturo Don 04/02/2017 21:24The quality of the rooms, breakfast variety and position do not justify such an high price. I was given the suite due to late booking and no other availability. The price was crazy, the room was enormous but old fashioned with 70's forniture! I would have rated it two stars but the Ground floor houses the pub lemon which is very good and deserves an additional mark!
Nice
NL_DINKSon 26/01/2017 09:52Rooms are Large, there is no coffee or tea in room, but you can get it from a room on 2nd floor
Breakfast is buffet with various breads, scrambled eggs, fruit, juice etc
Hotel is clean
Located near train and bus station
Can receive city ticket which will give free bus transport and entrance to museums if you have time for it
Utlitarian chic, but fine for business trips
Gerbilatoron 21/12/2016 20:33I was pretty happy that I'd been booked into this hotel even before I arrived. I'd explained that I'd be arriving very late at Zurich airport, and Antonella on the front desk sorted everything out, including arranging for a taxi driver to be waiting for me and being able to pay by credit card.
The immediate impression of the room was that it was very spartan - eg no minibar, no tea/coffee and just a rail for your clothes - but the basics are there and it all works.
If you want an iron/board, tea, coffee etc it's all in one room on the 2nd floor.
Breakfast was similarly simple but fine.
Overall, I'd say it's fine for the kind of work I do - fly in, bed, do job at client's place, bed, fly out again. Not sure about its suitability for a less functional way of spending your time.
