What People are saying

Tropical Storm. Colossal Waves. Terrific Fun.

Graham Lon 14/11/2017 21:48

This was my first visit to my all time favourite hotel - the wonderful Blue Haven - in the rainy season. And, at times, did it rain. It was incredible. It was extraordinary. It was amazing. It was dramatic.
Nature running wild.Palm bending winds. Torrential Rain. Incredible banks of seaweed washed up on the beach. Storm damage debris everywhere. But inside the beautiful Blue Haven it was, as usual, an oasis of calm. Owner Karl is a fantastic host - so very welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble.
Every member of staff was wonderful - ever attentive, friendly, helpful. My room was superb with a wonderful floral welcome to greet me on arrival. The food was fantastic. Every aspect of the services provided - superb.
What a pity more people don't enjoy The Incredible Blue Haven Experience at this time of year. It is unforgettable. And while we had the dramatic weather, it is always warm with sunshine enough to get a very good tan.
And for me (and this wouldn't be for everyone) swimming in the huge waves of the storm driven sea was just TERRIFIC FUN.
This was my third visit to The Blue Haven Hotel in 2017. I'm really looking forward to being back there in January. It is corny to say this - but I can hardly wait!!

If this is one of Tobago’s top hotels then Tobago tourism is in a sorry state.

If this is one of Tobago’s top hotels then Tobago tourism is in a sorry state. This place may have been considered luxury back in the fifties but it’s glory days are long gone. The hotel is shabby. Our room was relatively clean except for the sand mites that got everywhere. The beach was covered in trash. Really the only saving grace to this place is the staff. They go above and beyond to make your stay bearable. We were there in July for 3 nights. Stay somewhere else.

Lovely hotel

Beautiful hotel in a really quiet location. We we’re moved here due to flight disruption for the night, the hotel was empty, most beautiful sunset and room. Although the hotel looked tired when you first arrived it was a lovely place inside, there’s a walk way down to a beach I don’t think it’s private but it might as well be, there’s a small bar on the beach but it was closed when we were there.

Lovely Hotel

This hotel is quaint and well positioned. Now, it does need a lick of paint in places but look past that and the rooms are clean, generous and comfortable. The pool is nice and the yoga/sun deck is just a beautiful place to spend some time.
The service is good and the food is nice. Once I had a bit of negative service, but that was a single occasion rather than the normal.

A fabulous holiday

Such friendly staff that couldn't do enough for you. First impression of the Reception area was wow! Yes it is tired looking in places but they are constantly working on it. The weather and being right by the sea (Atlantic Ocean) certainly takes its toll. Paint work that had been absolutely fine on our arrival started to peel after 2 weeks of sun and rain. People should remember that this is the Caribbean and our 4 star is not the same The pool was cleaned every day. Our room was spotlessly clean and cleaned every day complete with clean towels. If you ran out of shampoo etc you only have to ask and a new one is left for you. We were all inclusive, the mini bar in our room was empty on arrival but was stocked up within a day or too. If we had asked for it earlier it would have been done. Food was excellent and very well presented. The only down side was that lunch time menu was a bit the same each day. However, the evening menu changed every day. There was always a choice of chicken, fish and one other meat,. A vegetarian option was available. Would I go back to Blue Haven? Most definitely. If you want Sanles standard then you have to pay for it..
