Relaxing Vacation!!

Great location for a weekend outing. Hotel is located at a very peaceful area and steps away from the beach. Customer service was great! Food is okay, can walk through the cliff side around 2.5 to the main beach but it will certainly not be boring watching the sea and walking. Free Wi-Fi available but no TV or intercom. We enjoyed our stay at Blue Water Beach Resort.

Great property, lacks professionalism

Amazing 'sea' view property, a great hub for who seeking relaxation from maddening crowd. Literally there is no beach near the property , its rock fence and sea. There are a few strips of sand, which can't be termed as beach. Note, the real Papanasam beach , by road around 5.5kms ( autofare 150). However can have an evening walk through the cliff.
The management lacks professionalism. Rates and offers once stated were jumbled at the time of billing. Water bottles are being charged, after one bottle complementary. Sigh! Such humid and hot.
Food is average, again, u don't have a choice. Coz no restaurants are nearby.
Its a property with excellent potential, however needs more than a casual approach to guests.

Walked into the place with my family at around 7 pm looking for two rooms but the staff there including the person sitting at their reception was not interested in renting out their rooms. He told us to wait and we waited for over 15 minutes but he seemed to be too busy to attend to us or show us any rooms. We finally left the place feeling letdown by one of the highly rated resorts on TripAdvisor. Definitely would not recommend this place to anyone looking for good service.

We had booked at the next door Palm Tree resort, but they (or booking.com) had overbooked. Blue water gave us a private cottage (110) with an amazing view, right at the front, overlooking the Indian Ocean, at a cheaper rate than the neighbour. The service is impeccable and the room was clean and comfortable. The room service by Raju was great. The food is great and the garden setting is lovely. The only draw back if you are not an early riser, is that the the fish traders hang out right outside the cottage, playing cards very early. But the whole fishing process is worth getting up for, anyway. It didn't bother us too much.

Great location, mid-range hotel

We loved our stay at Blue Water Beach Resort. A couple things: it is about a 1.5 hour drive from the Trivandrum airport, costing around 1600 Rs. Also it is a bit challenging to get to, so you should either have google maps out or arrive during the day and ask for Odayam beach, and then get directions from there. We read a lot about the disappointing food, but did not find this to be the case. Included breakfast is definitely simple, but adequate for a couple mornings. Also we had dinner there one night and were very happy. Staff took very good care of us, bringing us beers to our veranda.

I will say that the AC blasts pretty cold (though, given the alternative, we were okay with this), and that the sheets and blankets and rooms leave something to be desired (some had small holes and stains and the room was overall shabby). All in all, I would recommend this as being worth the cost in terms of location, quiet and convenience of having a good restaurant on site.
