My friend and I decided to stay at this hotel due to the pictures and a fairly priced room (however still not cheap) upon our arrival
Of the hotel we were greeted poorly (if even greeted at all) we were met with an ants nest, terribly air conditioned room and a fan that barley spins! The ants nests were taken care of very rapidly in fairness! The majority of the staff were rude and abrupt, almost as if we were putting them out. There was a small handful of helpful polite staff ! The choice of food was minimal and not labelled. There were no where near enough beds around the pool to accommodate the size of the hotel. Food was an extortionate price and basically thrown on the table.
Definitely wouldn't stay again !
Lovely clean hotel with excellent selection of food -good quality choices in Restaurant
Everyone helpful except Reception staff- they all need customer service training!
Fabulous Mini club run by Fany, Andres, Marta & Ola- they work so hard keeping the. Hildren & Adults entertained.
Evening Adult entertainment average
Having read some of the recent reviews since returning from Bluebay Banus out of curiosity I felt compelled to write a review. Our family (2 adults, 2 small children) visited August 2017.
On arrival we did not think much of our room, which had a nasty smell and not a very nice view, also twin beds when we would have preferred a double bed. I explained this to reception and they offered a different room which was much better. Yes the rooms are a little dated but they were immaculately clean, spacious and the facilities worked fine. The housekeeping ladies were lovely & friendly.
The gardens and pool area were clean and well looked after. Unfortunately unless you got up early there were no sun beds by the pool but it was the height of the season when we visited so this was to be expected & we got up early one morning to reserve ours.
The pool bar prices were a little expensive on the drinks side but food portions were big so you do get your money's worth in this regard.
There is a small children's park which could do with some maintenance as the ground is uneven and easy to trip over and there is no lighting there and children were playing on it when it was dark somehow.
The entertainment was OK but very loud. We were staying right over the other side of the complex and it felt like it was being played in the room next door. Could do with turning down a bit!
The staff at the pool bar and restaurant were polite I thought - sometimes there was a language barrier but they are Spanish not British, I think people forget this & we should make more effort to learn their language rather than expecting them to understand us. I felt the staff in the restaurant were very patient and friendly especially with my toddler who can't sit still for more than 5 minutes. In fact the only impolite people I came across at this hotel were some of the other guests, not the staff.
There were some same sex groups on their group holidays, hen parties etc but honestly I felt they were no trouble and not loud at all. Don't let this put you off the hotel.
The food in the restaurant was OK. Breakfast food tasted fine but was the same every morning. Evening food was OK but would have been good to have more choice for vegetarians as there was just salad (same everyday), pasta and rice. I thought the choice of puddings was poor sorry but my toddler enjoyed the ice cream. The fruit was lovely and fresh as to was the bread.
Short walk of about 15-20 mins to Puerto Banus which was expensive but nice to have a wander round and look at the boats and super cars. The beaches at Puerto Banus were beautiful too. The nearest beach to the hotel was nice and quiet, only thing that ruined it for us was the amount of men trying to sell watches, bags, towels etc. We must have been approached at least 20 times in a couple of hours.
Be mindful that the transfer from airport to hotel can take some time due to traffic and drop offs, it took about 2 hours so if I visited the area again I would probably book a taxi transfer instead.
If I were to stay again I would ask for a room on 1st or 2nd floor with a view of the small court yard which has beautiful flowers & lime trees.
I think this hotel offers excellent value for money bearing in mind it's location & comparing it to other hotels in the area.
We spent a week at the hotel (5 × Adults, 2 x 16 year old girls and 1 x 10 year old). The hotel grounds are very nice and the food was good with plenty of choice. The staff are rude and don't seem to like the English. My wife complained to the manager about the staff in the restaurant being rude, when my wife mentioned she was Italian the manager said to speak Italian as the Spanish love Italian's ! (Not good for us English)
The waiters in general were all rude especially the ones in the outside bar where they serve food, however the lady that welcomed and signed you in at the restaurant was pleasant and the cleaners were nice to.The room's are in need of a update, the false ceilings were broken so you could see all the bare bricks etc which the ceiling is suppose to cover, ants in the rooms and the aircon did not work, after 3 days of complaining they moved us to another room, the aircon did work but it was very noisy. The day to day activities and evening entertainment were not that good, the table tennis table was broken. I would not recommend this Hotel.
Just spent 10 days here and my husband and I enjoyed it. Hotel was clean and maid service was great. Clean towels everyday. Rooms are a bit dated but are spacioys and as I said are kept clean. Pool bar is pricey though so maybe an idea to go all inclusive. We were B & B and as a result we were paying 4 euros for a bottle of corona, daiquiri s are a hefty 8 euros and soft drinks are 3.25. Which is expensive especially if you have children with you! Breakfast was fine amd the waiters are really helpful and friendly. Overall a good holiday. Sadly i dont think we will be back as the resort of puerto banus is soooo expensive we could of gone long haul for the price of our holiday and what we have spent.
Thank you hotel bluebay banus!
