What People are saying

Just ok

julesg0925on 15/08/2017 19:53

We booked our room through booking.com (HUGE MISTAKE) and paid well over $300.00 a night! Their website online said they were sold out, so we were able to book a room through booking.com and to our surprise, they were NOT sold out.

Cons: The hotel is so dated and really needs a update! The red carpet in our room had black stains all over it. The beds were horrendous, each morning we'd wake up with such a back ache. The tv's aren't in HD, you would think by now all the tv's would be updated! The bathroom tile was cracked and chipped. The sofa and chair in the room was smelly. The indoor pool floor was so disgustingly dirty, so every time you walked to get to the pool or hot tub, you were putting dirt in it, yuck! The hallways had an air conditioner, but it was never turned on making the hallways very hot and stuffy! Same thing with the main floor bathrooms, a little fan is not going to cut it!

Pros: Loved the outdoor pool, indoor pool and hot tub , despite the filthy floor. Enjoyed our private balcony with our view of Frenchman's Bay! Loved the in-room safe! Throughly enjoyed a couple of drinks in the lounge listening to Bill Trowell playing the piano! The staff was very friendly! The Looking Glass Restaurant was phenomenal!

I think the next time we visit Bar Harbor, we will choose other accommodations!

Close to town but not close enough

sillyfishyon 08/08/2017 21:42

This hotel is nice but it was not worth the cost. It was just a regular room, a bit dated. The views were nice from the 3rd floor. However, it is not really in the center of town. We were able to walk to town, so it is walkable, but it isn't close. It was not the experience we were looking for. It was quiet and relaxing, though. If you are looking for a place to say where you can quickly pop out for a meal or a walk, I would not recommend it. However, if you are looking for a quiet place to relax away from people, this could be it.

Amazing View

Beautiful Hotel with an amazing view!!! This was our first visit to Maine and we had an incredible visit. The room was very nice and exceptionally clean. Enjoyed the music at night; the piano player was wonderful and friendly. He loved playing and asked everyone what song they wanted to hear. After a long day of hiking it was nice to relax and listen to him play.

We walked to town but it was about a mile which is a long walk if you plan to go into the park and hike. I would recommend driving into the visitor center of the park and using the shuttles to get around the park. The free shuttle service was easy and we used it the entire time.

Arcadia National Park is a must see!!! It was one of the most beautiful places I have ever been to. The park meets the needs of the adventurous to the person wanting to take a leisurely stroll.

I can't wait to visit Acadia National Park again and I would definitely stay at the Bluenose Inn.

This was lovely....

I made reservations at the Bluenose Inn and was a little hesitant based on some reviews. Don't believe them...this was a LOVELY place. We stayed in the Stenna building on the second floor and the view was beautiful. The room was clean...well equipped and the bed was extremely comfortable. We received a nice simple breakfast each morning. This property is reasonably priced during the high season and was very accommodating for all our needs. I would definitely return to the Bluenose Inn!

Better than expected

We had a very comfortable stay and exceeded our expectations. We had a king room in the back building. Our room was exceptionally clean and large. The hotel is on a hill and we had a beautiful view from our window on the second floor. Breakfast was basic. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate are available all day. We stopped in after our dinner in town every night to listen to the piano player and have a drink which was a great ending to our day.
