Amazing family holiday
JulesS64on 30/08/2017 22:45Returned from this resort 24 hours ago and I cannot emphasise enough what a wonderful hotel this is! There are so many things that make it stand out, such as the spacious room, spotless surroundings and none of the usual morning mayhem searching sun bed! We also loved having our own allocated table in the restaurant each day as we have been to many other places that we've had to queue to get in. However, the most outstanding feature has got to be the staff. Every person we encountered was friendly, helpful and a credit to the Bluesun group. A special mention has to be made to the young girl in the restaurant on the omelette and pasta station, and Alexsandra, who became a favourite due to her exceptional cocktail making skills and her daily conversation about family, sport etc even sharing our excitement about the challenge cup final which were following!
Tucepi is lively and picturesque. We enjoyed having a promenade to walk along after over indulgence at meal times, yet we were not hassled by local traders, which was refreshing.
Croatia itself was simply beautiful. We took a local bus from Tucepi to Markarska (10 mins) then on to Split which was one of the highlights of our trip as it is a fantastic city as needs to be visited.
Once again, thanks to everyone for a memorable holiday.

Excellent hotel, pet friendly
Blondy2014on 28/08/2017 11:22Fantastic position of the hotel - they have one central building with reception, SPA and restaurant, near the pool and load of bungalows (rooms) in a beautiful gardens. Everything positioned literaly on the beach.
Hotel is small pets friendly and we enjoyed with our dog.
Service is perfect, all staff is very nice and professional. But I would give my vote to Mr. Silvio, waiter in the lobby bar - he had a loads of will to prepare non-alcoholic Mojito for me every single day :-) And it was the best Mojito I ever had...
Food in the restaurant is typical hotel food but they are trying to make it different every day. The only thing I really did not like are soups - I don't expect much, but still they can do this part better. Rooms are clean (matter a fact, entire hotel is very clean). Rooms need a bit of update in terms of decoration but are specious enough and have balcony. We paid for a sea view but it was a mistake, as the sea view is disturbed with roofs :-) Garden view is much better and we will take that next time we come. Pool is nice and specious, clean again and hotel provides free towels.
We also tried hotel restaurant Kastel on the beach which was really good and you can get 10% discount when you are a hotel guest. We will certainly repeat our holidays there next year.
Excellent family holiday
Andrew Jon 22/08/2017 21:57We (2 adults and 3 children - 10 and 2 x 7 year olds) have just returned from a 10 day stay at the excellent Afrodita.
The room was clean and well maintained with a daily clean and towels swapped, a double bed on a mezzanine with the 3 good sized singles downstairs. We were happy that we could still hear the girls if needed and felt very safe and secure.
The pool was great, with both a good space that the smallest could stand up as well as a decent sized deeper section, with some sun beds available even when we went down later in the day despite it being peak season.
Food was a decent buffet selection to keep all 5 of us happy (lots of pasta dishes including a freshly made up option each day, very comprehensive salad options and local Dalmatian foods) including English style options and other child friendly dishes. Deserts were plentiful and many choices with ice cream always available if nothing else took your fancy! Lunch was next door at the Alga hotel and very similar format - this was never a problem as it was very close by.
The clientele is very multicultural (Scandinavian, German, Italian as well as UK) making the entertainment a challenge but we enjoyed most of it and the fire show is not to be missed!!
The staff were all very friendly (some with better German than English and vice versa but never a problem)
Location wise this is perfect for the beach and shops, restaurants of Tucepi. The beach is a pebble one with beautiful clear sea that was lovely and warm for swimming in.
We went on 2 trips with Jet2/Atlas to Hvar and Dubrovnik which went exactly as planned and were enjoyed by all of us.
Overall this was a fantastic family holiday at a great hotel that I would recommend to family and friends and wouldn't hesitate to return to.
beautiful resort, beautiful counrty
Nicola Won 21/08/2017 22:51We stayed here for 2 weeks on a family holiday. Myself, husband & 3 children (aged 19, 14 & 11). The hotel was lovely. Basic, but clean and tidy and lovely friendly staff. We had a sea view and could hear the waves in a morning and evening which was lovely. The holiday was amazing and would definitely come back. We stayed 1/2 board and was impressed with the wide selection of food. The only thing lacking was evening entertainment. The evening was very quiet with nothing to do. There was a couple of nights of entertainment but even the OAP's were bored
5 star food staff and views
Jen Won 13/08/2017 10:34This is a lovely hotel with exceptional staff. We had a couple of challenges which the staff resolved brilliantly. My 6 year old has food allergies so thanks to the organisation of the wonderful restaurant manager lady, the chef kindly prepared him specially cooked food each night which I was repeatedly informed was so much better than anything i have ever given him. Our own food was as good if not better in some ways than of that in some 5 star hotels we have stayed in.
We were initially given a room high up which for my mother with mobility issues was a problem so the manager very supportively offered to change for us in the morning and gave us a fabulous room over looking the sea.
The hotel is metres away from Croatias incredible coast line with the best waters I have seen throughout Europe.
Things which could be improved - very little. Only the connection to the Hotel Bluesun Alba where we were sent to for our lunches. We tried it and other than the freash water melon was horrendous and not too disimilar to the Army Mess food I have sampled in the past. Sorry. It was hard to accept the hotels were connected. So different to our own hotel and too far for my mother to walk anyway.
Thank you Afrodita, for an amazing experience xx
