Disappointed
phegs2016on 18/06/2017 23:01The hotel could be one of the best in Tucepi. It is situated in an excellent location with the beach immediately across the coastal promenade. The entrance had no reception but our Saga representative Sandi welcomed us and assured us that she would be available each morning. The rooms were comfortable and clean with fresh towels and bed linen changed regularly. In my opinion, I believe the hotel let Saga down as the food was of poor quality and very monotonous. The only food I enjoyed at breakfast was the scrambled egg. The salads that were served in the evening were not very appetising and the main courses were often tasteless and lacked presentation.
The hotel appeared to serve completely different and much more appetising food to non-residents and we found it quite distressing to see this food being carried through our dining room.
First time in Croatia!
handyliz1on 29/05/2017 00:39We booked our two week holiday through Saga Holidays, our first ever Saga holiday. From the minute we arrived at Villa Kastalet we felt relaxed. Tucepi at this time of the year is very quiet, many restaurants, bars and shops etc were only just beginning to open for the start of the season. The weather was wonderful at 26c every day. The mountain and sea views are breathtaking, our room overlooked the beach. The hotel was very quiet and peaceful, but had the added advantage of the use of facilities at the adjoining Alga Hotel, but it was nice to retreat back to the Kastalet. Our representative ‘Sandi’ was friendly and extremely helpful and was there most days, or available on the telephone. The only drawback we found was the food, although we didn’t starve the meals were bland and uninteresting, the resteraunts saving grace was the waitress who was there every day, breakfast and evening meals who was friendly and helpful. We love Croatia and hopefully will be returning there soon. We ventured out on several excursions to Dubrovnik, Split & Trogir, Mostar (Bosnia), and the Islands of Hvar and Brac, and every trip was wonderful, particular mention to our guide to Mostar (Anthony) who was probably one of the best guides we have ever had anywhere in the World. Highlights: the stunning sunsets and beautiful clean seas. Lows: the Saga brochure stated you can get to Dubrovnik & Split by local buses, well this is virtually impossible, as it would take too long! You would have to book into a hotel at these destinations or you would be looking at a possible eight hour round trip (Dubrovnik) and a little less for Split. All in all a fabulous holiday with some amazing memories.
Lovely Hotel
PatriciaShon 16/05/2017 13:08Just returned home after a weeks stay at Hotel Kastelet. The hotel is absolutely lovely, rooms are good and kept very clean. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Sandi the Saga Representative is very good and nothing is too much trouble for her. Would have liked to had breakfast etc., in the courtyard, but unfortunately it wasn't quite warm enough. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others. Thanks for a wonderful stay.
Review of a half board stay arranged through Saga in late April.
davidbateman6on 09/05/2017 16:15Absolutely lovely, gorgeous hotel, good meals, plenty of food, staff really wonderful couldn't do enough for you. Linen changed every 2 days, seaside location. With the Saga holiday a delightful rep Sandi. All the comments relate to the Saga trip, we did get transfers from the Airport at Split,
