Bluewater has Plumbling Problems. More of an old apartment building than resort.
tru545futon 02/08/2017 00:30Stayed in condo#1303 for 1 month through VRBO through Coastal Lifestyles. She also has company by Century 21 Coastal Lifestyles and Trio Property Management - Sandra Trio. This condo is not listed anymore. My review was there for a few weeks. It was for sale and I think it was sold or taken off to maybe relisted without review.
The building has plumbing problems and this management co. rented me condo that wasn't totally clean. Some condos are nicer than others but Bluewater has plumbing problems which many reviews have stated. One person said they told her not to use dishwasher or kitchen sink because pipes are narrow and she had to do dishes in bathroom sink. Others said dishwasher and kitchen sink smelled bad.
My experience with plumbing is when I moved in there was a few inch layer of throwup on the kitchen drain. I called Sandra of Coastal Lifestyles and told her and she said turn on water and if it doesn't go down I will send plumber. She didn't sound shocked or apologize. It didn't go down when water was on so I had to clean up and water went down fine. I had to deodorize drain several times before smell was almost gone. It smelled up whole condo. The condo is prone to mustiness also. I only used kitchen sink a few times to wash hands while I was there. About 5 days after I moved in water and food came up again in kitchen sink. When food and water came up I was not using sink. During the weekdays when no one was in next condo no water came up but on weekends when more people were there usually got water and food up kitchen drain. Plumber came to check this out, fix leaking pipe under bathroom sink which I called property manager about the 2 days before. He turned on water in kitchen sink for a couple minutes and didn't do anything. The plumber said it's an old building and your going to get water from other condos sometimes. The Property Manager had told me this plumber knows everything about Bluewater. Three weeks later the day before I moved out of condo, water and food came up again when someone was in the next condo. I called Property Manager and left message that when I left the next day there may be water and food in sink because it was coming up again. It came up about 3 more times that day and next morning. Never heard back from Property Manager.
The balconies that face north are not private, You look at your neighbors. If neighbors are loud it won't be very relaxing. You'll hear them in room by balcony also.
The street noise is loud also. Other reviews have mentioned balcony problems also. The airconditioner is on balcony and drips in pan on balcony which is annoying and it blows on you and makes noise. A few times when air conditioner was on it flooded the balcony floor. When your on the balcony its best to turn airconditioner off. The north side of building has parking lot in front and then hotel. If picture is taken at an angle you won't see hotel and think your getting totally open view. This condo had picture taken that way. The balcony floor of this condo was coming all apart.
When the rug in hallways gets wet from rain they smell bad.
The neighborhood is getting a little better but still has problems.
This review is about Bluewater and not this specific condo but I wanted to warn people of Coastal Lifestyles. She doesn't return phone calls or e-mails. I only called a few times. I don't have internet on phone or computer so I went to library and other hotel to e-mail her when I never got call back from message. Couch had mildew stains, ripes and piling all over. I only sat on dining chairs. Stove covers greasy and rusty, silverfoil pieces on top were greasy, big crumbs in toaster, shower curtain covered in soap scum. The fitted sheet covered the side of mattress about 2 inches on one side and halfway down the mattress on the other side. Most of her responses to bad reviews is their not telling the truth. She said I wasn't telling the truth. My review was totally true and I will put full review on other sites. Can't find her Yelp reviews anymore.
I stayed in 6 other resorts in Myrtle Beach and this was the worst. It is the bottom 10% of places to stay in Myrtle Beach in my opinion.
Magnificent Condo, unit 602 Bluewater Resort, South Myrtle Beach
logan430on 28/07/2017 15:18This 2BD/2BA #602 condo suite is stunning, even more striking then the posted pictures on vrbo...507691. This place is absolutely perfect. The tasteful décor is quite unique, very warm & peaceful (definitely not a cookie cutter), we have stayed in many hotel suites throughout the years but we have not seen one this pretty, lace flowers, bows & even crystal pieces nicely placed, the little touches feels sooooo like home. We are neat freaks, thus we expect & check for pillows & mattress to be encased in clean good quality protectors - that's a must for us - this place didn't disappoint.
A pleasant bonus, we loved the pretty King bed that is facing the Ocean. Another unique feature we appreciated with children in tow, was the in-condo upgraded extra Large washer & dryer.
Cal & Issy were terrific to work with, very kind and attentive to our needs, they checked on us often, they really have thought of everything for a hassle free vacation, we also appreciated that everything was included in their posted price, unlike many other places still add extra fees for departure cleaning, linens, towels and so on. We were also provided with a very comprehensive orientation package including lists of fave golf courses and restaurants.
Be sure to wake up early and experience the magnificent sunrays shimmering over the ocean, have your cameras ready - it’s an “unforgettable” event. The oceanfront balcony is double sized, and the sounds of the waves and the endless views of the Ocean and beach, I can only describe it as breathtaking. Thank you Issy & Cal for sharing your lovely home with us.
Book this condo with confidence, you will be absolutely delighted!
Lots of Issues
jamiewT7299JPon 25/07/2017 18:16I stayed in unit 305 and had a lot of problems with various things...I knew it was a bad sign when I checked out the laundry facilities across the hall and had to kill a roach. The floors in the condo were sticky and had to wear socks the entire time while inside. The bathroom door did not lock. I had to buy 3 bottles of Draino for the toilet...and that did not help. Towels smelled. I guess it's because the washers did not fill with water enough to get them clean..I learned that when I washed my beach towels. Not enough hot water for more than 2 people. Trash can needed washed out..foul odor. Comforters were stained. Ice in the ice maker had a foul odor. The doors did not shut properly..had to slam them. Wi-Fi...very weak! When you could get it at all. Unit was dated.
had a great stay
music_fanatic1on 12/07/2017 20:45We stayed in unit 704, rented through Elliott realty and it was fantastic. The unit was clean, well equipped and very comfortable. The balcony was really big, directly overlooking the ocean. The unit had a dishwasher, as well as a washer and dryer, which was super convenient. The living area was comfortably furnished, and there were 3 TV's. The two bathrooms are nice, one with a shower, and one with bath/shower combo.
Water temp and pressure vary, but that is not the fault of the unit.
The resort had 4 pools and a few hot tubs, as well as dedicated parking.
Overall, an excellent stay!
Great Condo and great view
Joshua Von 29/06/2017 20:59We stayed in condo 604 this week. It was really nice, new washer and dryer, new sleeper sofa, a good kitchen. The deck is the real jewel of the property. Two rocking chairs let you enjoy a great view from the 6th floor. The place has three pools and a really good cafe/ bar for breakfast in the morning and drinks in the evening.
