What People are saying

Average hotel in a quiet town

Dudess73on 25/07/2017 10:30

We arrived at the hotel, where only one person spoke English - but we managed. We upgraded to a room with a balony for an extra EUR 15 per night. The balcony was a good size, but since the weather was cold, it was a bad choice for us ;-)

The room and the bathroom was fine - and clean. But there were a lot of things on the surfaces of the furniture, so difficult to find adequate room to put our devices etc. upon.

The town of Alf is by the river Mosel, so if you are into that kind of scenary and temperature, its a good place. We are not though - there were no action og livelyhood in the town, and we only found 1 open restaurant. We were happy, that we only had 2 nights stay here :)

Charming Hotel

Fiona_Mayneon 06/07/2017 18:54

The hotel was welcoming and the room was light and clean. The staff tried their best to make sure we were looked after, but sometimes it seemed they were just under-staffed. We enjoyed the trips which were part of the package. Unfortunately there is not much to do in Alf and even fewer places to eat. We ended up walking across the bridge to the wine bars over the river.

Shearings Christmas Market Tour

ksons1on 21/12/2016 23:12

Stayed at the hotel for two nights in the first week of December, whilst visiting Christmas markets in the area. The owners and all their staff were very friendly and made us all feel at home from the moment we arrived. Sonja actually came onto the coach and greeted us; which I thought was a very nice touch.
The hotel was of a very good standard and lovely and warm, which was good considering the temperature was -6C at times outside. The meals were really tasty with four courses and a nice selection.
I would love to stay at the hotel in the summer but it appears Shearings who I usually travel with, only do trips in the winter, which is such a shame.

Sonja takes Service to a new high!

Basil Son 14/10/2016 15:15

Sonja, one of the owners of Bomers, sets a whole new standard in helpful and professional service. Whilst cycling along the length of the Mosel, I arrived in the Alf area on a public holiday weekend to find that all the hotels were fully booked in the surrounding area. When Sonja understood that I was cycling, and therefore couldn't travel far in the remaining daylight, Sonja took it upon herself to find me a room even though her own hotel was full - she succeeded through her personal contacts and 'phoned me back with the confirmation details - in my mind this sets the highest possible standard of service and professionalism. I ate in the Bomers restaurant that evening and enjoyed the best meal of my whole holiday. Bomers and Sonja are highly recommended.

Saved our holiday

We were let down by bad information from a car company and ended up with no transport, Luckily we had booked a night here with the intention of touring.
Sonya certainly went the extra mile to help us. She booked us in for the rest of the week and helped us with information on trains etc.
The hotel was really good. The food far too good. The staff were helpful and friendly. We had the apartment at the top of the hotel and it was perfect for our extended stay. Very clean and comfortable
Would certainly stay here again.
