The rude and impatient lady on the phone thought it was fair to downgrade my room without discounting the price, when I challenged it she said “take it or leave it”. Not quite what I consider to be ethical business.

Inexpensive at less than $70. We were upstairs with a balcony

Our room was very clean. There was aircon if you like it, a fan and a little private balcony. I had an enjoyable swim in the pool. My only negative feedback would be that you need to take care on the shiny white bathroom tiles when you shower. I slipped and had to grab the toilet to not have a bad accident. But, many OZ places seem to have open showers and these same tiles. They'd be safer with a texture.

Good price but no en suite

Room was OK, the only thing that dissapointed me a bit was that it didnt have a private toilet and bathroom.
This was not explained when I booked
Other than that, the price was right and the room is quite big. The internet was OK, and there was a TV and aircon which is all I need.
The pool always looked busy and I saw lots of families playing, I would actually consider bringing my family here, but I would book a room with a toilet and shower next time

NOT RECOMMENDED

One star is too much for this hell hole!

I booked this place for the last 2 nights of our trip as we were traveling around and returned the rental vehicle 2 days prior to departing Cairns.

We dropped our luggage off and went to return the vehicle, from there we headed straight into Cairns and spent the evening there. We didn't realise how bad the room was until we returned but by that time it was very late, we were tired and had a lot of luggage to move so it was too hard to find another place in a hurry and go elsewhere.

The room was DISGUSTING..!!!! When I pulled the top bed sheet back it was obvious that the sheets hadn't been changed, they were creased and had stain marks on them, very very dirty.

The toilet had a leak in it so the bathroom floor was wet. The tap in the bathroom sink wouldn't turn off properly but trying to turn the tap on was near impossible I had to get my partner to turn it on for me.

The small fridge is so dirty, rusted and stinks! The table on the balcony is absolutely filthy.

I ended up sleeping in jeans and a hooded jacket so I didn't have to lay on other peoples dirty germs. I used my beach towels as a blanket. I woke up scratching! I have a couple of sores on my legs that were not there beforehand.

When I had a shower in the morning someone else's hair twisted around the drain and insects came out of the grout.

The place is the worst place I have ever been to. For the price they charge I expected a lot better than what they offered.

We packed our stuff and left in the morning as soon as we were able to book another place to stay!

DO NOT GO THERE...!!!!

The loudest hostel I have ever booked. Didn't stay

aaron w on 02/08/2017 10:16

I can handle a lot of things, am rarely fussy and can put up with things others won't put up with, but I Didn't stay. Felt like a nightmare.

I went to the hotel after work at 4pm, I understood it was the afternoon and if I was to have a nap there was going to be some noise, fair enough, I just wanted to have a nap after some serious sleep deprivation from long work hours.

Instead I had an aural assault of echoing loud doors constantly slamming and echoing, constant opening and closing, slamming, showers pouring, the loud echoing of slapping thongs slapping down tiles stairs, loud echoing voices all through the hallway and outside, planes going over, trains literally rattling and shaking the whole building.

The echoing through the halls, was relentless to say the least. Constant slamming echoes.
I was amazed at how I could hear every single thing at an amplified volume from the ground floor room.

Never in my life have I put my head to rest even for a minute in a place that was as loud as this. This place could qualify to be in the Guinness book of records as of one of the loudest places that exists in the world.

The highest decibel to truly devastate your attempt at even just a power nap. A true phenomena.

This was so ridiculous it actually seemed like a horrible joke. If it was this loud at 4pm, imagine the rest of the night, weighed up my options and went to hand the keys in, no one in the office so put the keys in the out of hours box, cut my losses and left. I'd rather pay for another hotel that at least had semi quiet rooms, than stay in that monstrosity of an amplified sonic aural assault to the senses hotel.

I feel actually insulted. And so tired.
