Excellent property bad hospitality

I did book two marina view rooms, the rooms are very mediocre with less space compared what we pay for. The worst experience was the restaurant staff who was reluctant to take order from the menu and was insisting to go for buffet or order ala carte from items already in buffet! Here are the funny bits from the restaurant, eggs to order are not part of breakfast buffet, dosas to order are not part of the breakfast buffet!. All these were proved to be blatant lies when I spoke to the manager. The cheesy reason for denying me my order from menu was that if other guests see eggs and dosas are provided to order then all of them would order for it.... boy you guys really are into hospitality business. If I tell you the reason behind this you won't be surprised, this place is run by KTDC which is a govt organization, do I need to say more? My suggestion,just pay a visit and see the place for its beauty, stay somewhere else and eat somewhere else. Oh almost forgot, the pool was muddy like the water from the backwaters, I could barely see the bottom tiles.

I felt I was in some foreign destination!

The property is amazing and the surroundings are even more amazing! My room was facing the backwaters and it was a sight!!!! To reach the place is also an adventure, which I loved, for the fact that I am pretty adventurous by nature. But, yea there is another way to reach the resort too, for the less adventurous minds. The property is huge and has the boat jetties around it. The rooms and amenities are great too. The breakfast was great too. The people were really very helpful and friendly. I would any day give this place a five star!!!! Loved it! :)

Get a glimpse of yesteryear's grand life

The success of a hotel is usually largely dependent on its locartion. By that standard alone, Bolgatty Palace should be runawat success just for its fantastic l location and property. But unfortunately it is poorly maintained. The views from the property are superb. It has a nice shallow pool which all age Groups can enjoy.The food was decent. but the kitchen and restaurant are in separate buildings so a la carte takes some time.

One must ask fora guided tour of the hotel and see the parts where the Viceroy was supposed to have lived. The view from there is spectacular and one of the best I have seen anywhere in the world. A stay in one of the cottage rooms on the sea front is the best.

The warmth of the staff, Front Office, Guest relations, restaurant , housekeeping is commendable. All of them were very polite, helpful and courteous..

A stay here will always be remembered.

Excellent stay in cochin

Bolgatty palace offers a great and wonderful traditional stay in cochin, we stayed there for 3 days and it was indeed awesome. The food was really good, the scenery hotel offers is really good, its actually located in an island.

The property is beautiful and well located, very picturesque and on bank of a lake. Stayed in Lake View cottages which were very small. The main building houses four suites named after Dutch painters.These suites are indeed very good and are very spacious. Breakfast was most ordinary.Staff was reasonably responsive. Property per se is good,vast lawns,18 century iron bell. These are in the main building which is 3 centuries old and was occupied by Dutch royalty. There is a jetty adjoining the property which takes you to the main market area in less than 10 minutes. Very convenient but upto 7pm only.
