What People are saying

Don't visit out of season/beginning of season

Jasmineamber91on 02/06/2015 11:42

False advertising!
Bar & restaurant......there were neither
Meals for 3 nights was HORRIBLE western food take away
No lunch option
Breakfast option was NON optional- under cooked omelet and bread or nothing

Hotel located in the middle of no where

Next to no water pressure,no hot water from shower, shower water smelt like poo

Lady inning the place was lovely so we feel bad for leaving a bad review,BUT in all honesty it was terrible, falsely advertised and couldn't wait to leave.
Ruined our holiday.

Excellent place with excellent personnel

This place is great for relaxation, relaxation and more relaxation.
It breathes a luxury and style you treat yourself with for a special occasion like being in Indonesia for four months and then closing that time with comfort.
We were welcomed by Dayu who takes good care of the guests after they're brought by the excellent driver Wahde who could also do tours around.
You don't have to ask for many things, she seems to know what you want by just looking at you and makes it happen.
You look thirsty and the question comes if you like a drink, you want to swim and the towel is ready.
Swimming is a delight in the clean and good temperature water.
The rooms are spacious with a real king size bed with soft mattress and pillow. Both the sink and the shower provide warm water and lighting, although a bit dim, is not provided by the bright white ones but a couple of gentle yellow bulbs.
You can order dinner that will be brought from a local restaurant and served in the breakfast "room" with view over the rice fields.
There's also a place where you can get a massage, a pool table and a gym as well as a sauna.
We didn't go out other than to the market in the village and to a restaurant but they know what's to do in the surrounding area around Bona.
Thank you Dayu for the great time my wife and I had!

Thank you...

If I should say in one word how good it was to be in this place, it would be : "Amazing"
A special thank to Dayu for her kindness, her patience and her welcoming!
Thanks to you and your staff, you definitively made our trip! :)

Healing Bali vibe

I am rarely drawn to write reviews on Trip advisor and only do so when I find something special. This resort has just been taken over by the fantastic Mr Wijaya who also owns the Villa Kishi Kishi on the beach at Gianyar.

I spent a week in Bali under the care of Mr Wijaya who is a amazing healer. I had met him at a spa of another hotel and then spent every day under his care. If you want a genuine authentic Balinese healer who can help with detoxification, stress, etc and want someone who is knowledgeable and charming I rate him very highly.

I have to caveat that I did not stay at Bona Village as he had only just taken it over but he is now running his healing and detox retreats from there - a great alternative to expensive and overrated spa experiences elsewhere on the island that only focus on massages and facials...
