What People are saying

Hotel staff were outstanding during a terrible incident.

1LovesTravel1on 14/08/2017 23:03

We were a group of 23 travelling from Texas to enjoy fellowship, fun, and a little bit of chance. Our rooms were what we expected and the selection of the buffets offered us a good variety. We even had some winners at the slots as well as at the tables.

However, unexpectedly, one of friends suffered a heart attack and passed away in his sleep. Upon notification of this tragedy, the staff took charge and offered us a room for all of us to gather, etc. and worked with the police and the coroner. Thank you for your kindness and professionalism.

Better than some.

We stayed at Boomtown Hotel recently and enjoyed the visit. The rooms are getting outdated, but were clean. Beds were comfortable and air conditioning was working great. The hallways were a little dirty, and the casino was really not cleaned well at all. Not too bad a visit, but could have been better.

You guys need new management

We go to this casino for me to play one of their old machines. No other casino has one on their boat. We put up with the filthy garage. Please clean it. People turn numerous chairs around to prevent anyone else from playing that machine. My problem with that is they leave and got to another machine and may show up a few hours later to play. Your staff turns their head and ignores you while you are letting the know of the problem. What a JOKE. Forget the horrible air quality.

This afternoon we decide to go eat and then I was going to play some. We called ahead to see if children could eat at the buffet and the price. We were told full price for adults and children under 7 eat free. We get there and the lady said her supervisor told her small children had to pay full price as of right then. OMG, these two children are barely six and we had to have to pay $14.95 for them. IT was 5:30 and they just changed the policy? REALLY? ON a Sunday afternoon? I called casino again and was told again, NO charge for children under 7. So Management, what is the charge for a 6 year old. I would appreciate someone in charge to notify me asap, please. Very frustrated.

Better than first visit

Seems like the staff is a little better now, like they try a little more now, food was good. I Have stayed in the hotel but they showed me a room and it was ok. Appearance wise not really any improvements in casino but it was better than before as far as experience

Serious disappointment

As this place is connected with Lauberge Casino in Baton Rouge, I falsely assumed it would have some of the same amenities or at least be passable. This place was horrid. Food on buffet was below par for a casino and when one of the diners I was with opened her napkin, containing her silverware, the lid to a used butter pat come out. Apparently cleanliness isn't a big priority. My adult daughter booked another room in the place and held it by credit card and when she went to check in was given the key to a room that upon opening the door, found a guest sleeping in the bed! Very dangerous situation for all involved. Louisiana is after all a gun carrying state! When we returned to the desk to get another room, all that was available was a smoking room. The incompetent clerk at the desk didn't seem to realize this was most likely a time to "comp" a room. We had to insist that she call the hotel manager at home to remedy the problem. The room given her of course smelled of a stale unclean ashtray when we finally dropped her off in her room. There are no amenities at this place such as quick stop shops, stores, sundries, etc. It's basically a smelly dump. The parent company of this place needs to make you aware up front that this is nothing like some of the other holdings.
