Refreshing Stay

Arrived after a 5 hour drive in pouring down rain. Greeted by a pleasant older gentleman who was polite and helpful in completing our check-in process. The room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast was delicious with biscuits and gravy, hot homemade waffles and a variety of yogurt, toast, cereal, OJ and fresh brewed coffee.
Across the road from the Walmart super store. An overall great experience. We'll be back for sure!

Good night's sleep

We were on a roadtrip and stopped here for the night. The room was clean, comfortable, had good air conditioning and the beds were comfortable. We especially liked that they had smoking rooms, direct TV, and the staff was very friendly. The price was reasonable. We would definitely stay again.

Spent two nights here. Room was clean, beds were very firm, good water pressure with warm shower. Refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot in room. Our check in went smoothly and the clerk was super friendly with a well appreciated sense of humor. Breakfast was typical continental (biscuits, gravy, waffles, toast and cereal). Strong coffee!

Was expecting a little better

Well, I usually stay else where, but was looking for a little cheaper than what I was paying. This hotel was only 10 to 15 bucks cheaper than what I was paying, so I figured it would be ok. Check in was at 3, I reserved a room online, and showed up at 130, because u don't pay online, u pay there, and I wanted to make sure I had a room reserved. Even though I booked online, it took roughly 20 minutes to get checked in, Yes I was the only one at the desk. The plus was he let me go ahead and check in early, downsides: the smell when I walked in was a mixture of Chinese soup and an unidentifiable scent, it made me uneasy. No elevator, I was upstairs of course. I liked that the doors to the outside were card key locked. Finally get to my room, and it appeared clean, linens were clean, new tv. So i eased up a bit. I sat on the bed for a bit, and noticed I was getting bit, by freaking fleas. Even then I didn't complain, I went to take a shower, and the hot water didn't last thru shampooing my hair, then I get out freezing to death, and went to blow dry my hair, and the blow dryer on the wall didn't work. Needless to say, I won't be back.

Seems like the hotel has changed owners. We have stayed here a few times over the past 10 years. The current staff are very friendly. Unfortunately it appears that the current owners are not investing in maintenance. There are many signs of neglect such as rain gutters lying on the ground, heavy algae growth in the small swimming pool, ceiling in the room falling apart, toilet seat very loose, holes in the wall where something used to hang on the wall, picture hangers left on the wall electrical outlets dangling from exterior wall, garbage and cigarette butts left around the grounds especially around the back door and splatter marks on the stair walls from some unknown substance.

All in all, the room was livable and quiet. They allowed us to keep our pet for a nominal fee.

Housekeeping was very nice and helpful.

We are experienced with this hotel and sad to see the neglect.
