Beautifully Restored Apartment in Charming Agnone

BacciJon 18/06/2017 06:40

My father and I spent 8 days at Borgo San Pietro and we couldn't be happier about our time there. The apartment is spacious, immaculately clean, and in a quiet part of Agnone's historic center.

The two bedrooms were inviting and airy, with very comfortable beds and linens. The bathroom was bright and warm, with all new fixtures. The kitchen was well-supplied with everything one needs to make meals at home. The living room/dining room is furnished with comfortable, attractive furniture and has room for 4 to 6 people.

The owner was very accommodating and helpful during the booking process. Once we arrived, she provided excellent written information about the local and regional sites, many of which are only known about by local residents like her.

If you're looking for an off-the-beaten-path Italian experience, Agnone is the perfect destination. It is large enough (5000 people) to have all the amenities one needs, but small enough to retain a friendly and genuine character. We spent a couple of days seeing the sites in and immediately around Agnone, and used our other days to venture to other parts of the Alto Molise.

We came home feeling like we got to experience a real slice of Italian life, in both Agnone and the other areas we visited. What more could one ask for?

Charming and Breathtaking

My son and I just came back to America from Agnone and other places in Italy. I loved Agnone and have a sentimental connection to this beautiful village. My great grandparents immigrated from here, and I was on a mission to find legal records. Valentina did not only provide a beautiful place to stay, but also guided us where to go to find records. Borgo San Pietro was clean, beautiful with an old world charm. The locals were so kind and helpful in Agnone. I felt like I was in heaven! I plan on staying longer next year with my husband and I will definitely stay at the B&B again! See you in July Valentina!!

October 2016 Stay in Agnone

Borgo San Pietro was a pleasure to stay at. The room was beautiful, had everything we needed to prepare our own meals, great WIFI and the staff made us feel right at home. The staff spoke English and were very helpful in providing activities in the Agnone area to visit and sightsee. In addition, some TV channels were able to be viewed in English as well, a bonus we have not found elsewhere in Italy. We can't wait to come back for another stay!

Wonderful and consistent

Since our last time staying at the Borgo, which was 2 years ago, it has been consistent. Wifi has been added which is a great benefit. We stayed in the apartments this time instead of the room... highly recommended if you are staying multiple days and want some independence in making coffee, storing goodies, etc.
Valentina is as gracious and welcoming as ever.

Back to Basics

As part of our 18-day visit to Italy, we stayed in Agnone where my husband's family originates. We had the time of our lives! We were a family of 5 adults and truly had the opportunity to get back to basics and appreciate life here. Valentina welcomed us with open arms, and was always available to answer our questions. The accommodations at Borgo San Pietro were quaint, spacious, very clean and comfortable with rustic stone walls and wood beamed ceilings. The kitchen was equipped with dishes, pots and pans, and we cooked a couple of family meals there. The bedrooms were comfortable, and led out to a beautiful garden that gave way to the most breath taking, panoramic views of the mountains. Amazing beauty! The people of this town are friendly, and very willing to help answer questions, or give directions. The cobblestone streets bring you back to an era in time where life was unstressed and neighbors greeted each other. Cafes, bakeries, and restaurants were a short walk away. Don't miss the visits to the Marinelli Bell factory, and the Copper shop -- both provide a 20-minute educational video on the long-standing history and contributions to both Agnone and Italy. Thank you Valentina, and hope to see you again next year!
