What People are saying

A well executed theft in an otherwise adequate hotel.

Tolleybrotheron 30/11/2015 14:52

My Iphone and Ipad were stolen from my room one afternoon whilst I was out surfing for an hour. The staff and I were the only people to have a key to the room. The manager and his receptionist were entirely disinterested in the theft and refused to contact the police. The room was locked and the thief took only my electronic goods of value. They left my cards and passport etc. It seemed like they knew exactly what they wanted and when to let themsleves in and remove my belongings. I spoke to some American Basketball players who were staying at the hotel and they had their watches stolen from their rooms a few days beforehand. There would seem to be a fairly efficient system in place at this establishment. I would be very cautious indeed about staying here. The room itself was perfectly comfortable and breakfast simple but perfectly enjoyable. I was supposed to be staying for 4 nights but left early after I was relieved of my valuables.

wonderful people, wonderful staff !

I've been there last january, arriving late in the evening with my bike and supposing to stay just for one night and than look for something else ....I remained at Borj Mogador Hotel for 10 days, everyone was so gentle and the place was good for me, out of the medina. There was a place for my bike in the hotel, always,
Thank's to everybody there!

Wholeheartedly recommend this hotel

I stayed at Borj Mogodor for two nights and would come back again. The hotel staff was very friendly and helped me practice Arabic. Breakfast was normal Moroccan hotel fare--a loaf of bread, pain au chocolat, white cheese, jam, butter, freshly-squeezed orange juice, and (of course) mint tea. One morning I came down after they stopped serving breakfast and the staff went out of their way to put a tray together for me anyway. As for visiting the Medina/beach, it is a 5-10 minute walk to the beach (not bad at all), and a 5-10 minute petit taxi ride to the Medina (for 8 dirhams--equivalent to $1). The room was comfortable and clean, the bathroom came with towels, and the television and wifi worked without a hitch.

I would recommend this hotel to my friends.

Small friendly hotel, v good value for money

I've stayed here twice, once soon after it opened (in 2005, IIRR) and again in 2010. Reception are friendly, rooms are pleasant and clean (one drawback: very narrow bathroom). It's true that it's a bit far from the main tourist area in Essaouira so not very suitable if you don't have your own transport. Otherwise, very good value for money for its category.

far from medina and beach

Lalla_Saidaon 29/01/2010 18:56

I stayed here 2 nights with a group in May 2008.

The room was small, but clean. Hotelstaff friendly. Breakfast ok. Breakfast is served at the café downstairs, in the morning this café is still closed and only available for hotelguests.

The hotel is unfortunately not well located. It is very far from the medina and the beach. You need to take a taxi. For this reason I do not recomment the hotel.
