An Oasis in the Chestnut Forests of Mt. Etna

After spending three nights here earlier this month, I can honestly say that our experience at Bosco Ciancio was truly wonderful in every way. We did not know what to expect at a hotel on the slopes of Mt. Etna, but when we arrived we were instantly charmed by the stone architecture of the place. It is well off the road up to Etna and sits in the middle of the chestnut forest and is so very quiet and serene. GPS is a super good idea, as the location is a bit remote. However, as we drew closer there were brightly painted Bosco Ciancio signs pointing the direction that helped tremendously. The staff was all very friendly. Alberto, the proprietor, met us warmly and continued to make our comfort and enjoyment during our stay his top priority. He is also a wealth of knowledge about the surrounding area and loves to take time to talk with you. He took us on a walk around the woods where we saw hives for chestnut honey made on the property every year. The on-site restaurant delivered delicious menu and wine options. The place was neat and clean. Breakfast was, in my opinion, huge and full of options, from sweet to savory. In the end, we left with a sadness actually...that we couldn't spend more time in the peace and quiet of Bosco Ciancio.
Great hotel in sight of Etna with fantastic Sicilian hospitality

From booking in you will be made very welcome. Checkin was very informative and Alberto was very knowledgeable and able to advise to suit your travel needs
Rooms were very clean well decorated and spacious and we made use of the fridge in the room
We made full use of the full dinner menu sampling really excellent Sicilian food and local wines
We also made use of the free mountains bikes to take a spin up to the Etna cable car before relaxing on the decking
Bother the patio and bar areas are comfortable on the whole we only stayed 2 nights but could easily have seen the whole of the east coast tourist sights using this as a base
Can't recommend enough
Very nice hotel off the beaten path

This is a really beautiful hotel in a very nice surrounding in the southwest Etna region, not far from Nicolosi. Not easy to find, but that's the Charme of this hidden place.
Stayed 5 nights. We saw three rooms because the one we had booked was not available upon arrival. The mistake was taken care of quite quickly. Room #2 is "decorated" very minimalistically, as we were told as a special note of the architect... The room is basically empty except of the bed, no wardrobe, etc. A question of taste and of how many nights you want to stay. The other rooms we saw are nice and cozy and prettily decorated.
They have a good restaurant that serves Sicilian food. Full menu every night, more than you can eat :-)
The breakfast is lovely, has everything that you need and if you can sit outside on the porch then it's really fantastic.
The people on site are very helpful, they give good advice to explore the area and the volcano.
A nice place to relax after visiting Etna

The location was beautiful, very quite and near to Etna. The staff was great. Dinner was very good and reasonably priced. The room was large with a comfortable bed.
Wifi was available only in the lobby but that was no problem for us.
Excellent

This small hotel has been renovated sensitively provide subtly sophisticated accommodation. Rooms are very comfortable with lovely views across orchards;apple trees were in blossom when we visited. The breakfast choice is simple but of good quality; plenty of choice. The evening meals (an excellent value 30€ menu) proved to be the best we experienced during a two week stay in Sicily. Roberto, one of the owners, is a mine of information relating to local wines, culture and places to visit. All the staff were unfailingly friendly. This is an excellent location to start or finish a visit to Sicily as it is within 40 minutes travel to the airport and also close to Etna. Warm spring sunshine, a blizzard and the fiery glow of Etna in one day! We visited at the start of our holiday and changes our plans so that we could return at the end.
PS Ask Roberto for the Moretti Siciliana beer.
