Great friendly boutique hotel not far from Stans
Stevo_Perthon 25/07/2017 16:03Small boutique hotel. Lovely rooms - mine had great shower, full bath, comfy bed and views out over the water. Friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Unfortunately restaurant closed for dinner but short walk down the hill to other locations for dinner. Well priced for business in Stans and surroundings.

We arrived late, tired and frazzled after a long journey but, as we ate an incredible meal, all of our stresses melted away. Our room was stunning, the views from the hotel were amazing, and the hospitality was just perfect. Amazing!
I can't imagine a better place to stay near Lucerne
100-50-7on 13/05/2017 08:35The Hotel Schussel is a perfect base for exploring the area around Lucerne. It is a small family owned and operated hotel in this idyllic little village right on the lake. This was our first trip to Switzerland and we decided on the Lucerne area. After many years of travelling we now always try to find smaller towns near the bigger citties. The prices are so much better and the people are almost always a hundred times more friendly and helpful. The Schulssel was no exception. Daniel the owner and Katya the manager were outstanding hosts. Unfortunately their restaurant which had great reviews was closed the two nights we were there. We ate at the Niedwalderhof which was very good.
We saw the Lion statue in Lucerne, took the cable car to Pilatus, and drove up to Isenthal, this tiny little mountain village which we thought of as the Switzerland we had imagined. One word of caution - do not drive up to Isenthal without checking the bus schedule first. It is a one lane mountain road.
Beautiful little hotel in the heart of Switzerland
Ad Aon 26/04/2017 07:14Stayed there for a night during a romantic road-trip with my fiancé. The hotel is run and owned by a couple and supported by a few staff who are very friendly and welcoming. Upon arrival we were greeted by the owner and offered a glass of sparkling wine in the dining area with a view over the lake before being shown to our room. The rooms are big and very charming. None of them are the same and the decorations make the place feel really quirky and welcoming. The hotel restaurant offers a set menu (reservations recommended - within a day of booking through this website I was contacted by the hotel to ask if I wished to book a table which made it very easy) that we found to be really excellent with local gourmet food (we're not talking fondue) accompanied with a wonderful selection of wines (local and foreign) and a large choice of cheese, teas and spirits for those who like to pull out all the stops when at the dining table. I really look forward to going back!
Friendly atmosphere and top notch food and service
Ann Fon 19/04/2017 19:21We really enjoyed our four day visit and we felt spoiled every step of the way. Informed staff as to area activities, excellent room and view, and wonderful breakfast buffet. Our dinner one night was the highlight and we would definitely love to return!
