Anniversary Weekend Perfected!

We came up to Young Harris on a whim for our anniversary. We live only a couple hours away- so it was convenient. We stayed in the lodge. From the moment you drive up, the service is excellent. From the bellmen to the front desk, everyone is super friendly and outgoing. Our room was gorgeous and clean. There was a door to balcony that was only about 6" deep- kind of odd, but I guess its atmosphere. There was also a gas fireplace for ambiance. We spend the morning at the Equani Spa- what a treat! Again, spotlessly clean and excellent service. Wynona was an amazing aesthetician and the hydrofacial was wonderful. The massage was adequate for a spa- nothing I'd drive extra for, but relaxing. I also did the tub soak which was advertised as "surrounded by views of the mountains". Actually it was in a little room, outside of the massage room with little wooden shutters that could open or close. While it was relaxing, it wasn't worth the $45 price tag. (keep in mind the spa charges 20% on all services- making this bath $54-- most expensive bath EVER!) We had dinner in the Grille at the hotel since it was the local prom night and the higher end restaurant was teeming with teens. Simple grille fair, nothing exciting to report. We'l definitely be back for more weekends in the future. This place would be wonderful for a girls' weekend, couple's getaway, or family vacation. Bear in mind the charge a daily $15 "resort" fee- which includes the pool, internet, fishing equipment, etc. If you aren't taking in the other amenities- it seems a bit steep for just the internet.

Weekend Escape

Stayed in a cabin with fireplace, fridge and microwave. Package included all you can eat breakfast.
Loved the fireplace and walking trails on the property. Breakfast is nice with lots of choices including freshly made omelets and eggs. Bacon needs to be degreased though it was hard to enjoy although it had good flavor, but geeze sop up that fat! Coffee in the room is horrible, probably the worst we have ever had, anywhere. Coffee in the restaurant is barely any better. This is a really important issue because coffee is associated with mood and mood has a lot to do with wanting to come back.
Rooms are comfortable, not cramped. Mirror in our room was very distorted and needs to be replaced along with pillows.
One pillow was feather and I only discovered it the second night, too late as the damage to my neck was done. Overall the resort is in very good condition and employees are very helpful and accomodating. So fix the bacon, mirrors, pillows and most important the coffee and we will be back.

Quick FuN trip!!

We dropped teens at a camp and went to the Brasstown Resort to celebrate our anniversary. We arrived on a Friday night in time for their Seafood Buffet. We thought it was GREAT!! We had a lovely restful quick weekend. Our room on the top floor overlooked the beauty of the mountains. It's a beautiful area with hiking trails and lots to do. We actually wanted to hike a mile on the Appalachian Trail so we did that in the Neels Gap area. If we'd had more time, I would have LOVED to experience the spa. We'll have to go back!!

PURE BLISS

Brasstown Resort is a true retreat for the soul. From the fabulous staff to the gorgeous views and paths amongst the lovely woods and mountains, everything of this hideaway exceeds expectations. Both onsite restaurants are both reasonably priced and serve a wide variety of outstanding dishes. Meals can be enjoyed inside or out at both locations. The stables' guided horseback tours are a wonderful way to unwind for an hour or two. The Equani Spa offers a plethora of services to insure ultimate bliss in relaxation. Although I don't play, I still admire the beauty of their golfcourse. Both pool and hot tub have an indoor and outdoor option. The rooms are well-developed with choices of fireplaces or balconies available and beds so comfortable you'll want to pack them home. Definitely a place for a memorable stay.

Beautiful resort and they just remodeled we are told. Love the rockers on the back porch area, the food is good and rooms are clean and nice. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Beautiful lobby and the buffets are great.
