Bare bones hotel stay regardless of what others say. July 14, 2017

Judging by what Machiko M and Jane R says this would be a fabulous place to stay. I based my choice on these kind of ratings, That's why I dated my response so that travelers will know when things changed. Some sites indicated there were kitchenettes in every room, continental breakfast every morning, and even coffee. One website even said there was a morning paper. All these are no longer there. Talk about bare necessities. Coffee only, in the office lobby from 7:00 'til 11:00. Premium cable channels are an analog antenna, I needed to contact the front desk about getting a remote for the TV. My room didn't even have a clock radio. When I asked management about it, the clerk stated that they were having problems getting one. I stayed five days and didn't get one by the time we left. There was a phone in the room but it didn't work. There is a hair dryer. It might work, my wife brought her own.

Wow really and they expect you to be happy with this accommodation

First I will say the lady behind the counter was very pleasant and helpful while I was checking in. I took my room card went into the room. The first thing I endured was a very strong smell as i ented the room. I also noticed that the window was open and it was evident it was that way to help air out the room. It was a rainy windy day so there's no reason for a hotel room window to be open. Next I went into the bathroom and there were cobwebs and other things on the wall which I cannot describe! the floor hadn't been cleaned well as there was junk and bugs behind the bathroom door, bath towels non-existent although there were hand towels. the carpet was stained and dirty and most of the furniture was run down and beat up!

By then looked at the bedding the bedspread was old but I will say the bed was nicely made and sheets for really claim but the headboard had so much dust it came off on my finger and to me that's gross. Not to mention you would think that would be the basic of room cleanliness.

I've then walked back to the office and said to the lady I'm sorry but I cannot stay here that room is filthy! she looked shocked ! then asked me to follow her to the room and on the way she got the housekeeper's attention and all three of us entered the room. I started pointing things out. I think the lady possibly the manager on duty embarrassed because she then told me I was making excuses!! I said I'm not exactly sure what excuses or why I would be making them it was clear I would not be sleeping in this room. If I was trying to get something for nothing I would have stayed in the room and complained in the morning and asked for a refund but literally it was five minutes from the time I walked in the room ! I'd like a refund i said at this point and I was still very polite! she on the other hand was becoming more and more defensive so I've then swiped the top of the head board in front of her and pulled up a good inch of dust off of it!! and asked her do you really expect me to sleep with this over my head then she gave me a dirty look so i walked out of the room and walked back to the office. I received my refund and told the lady I was not making excuses as she previously stated!! I have to say I feel like I walked into hotel and possible!

The housekeeping staff seemed like they cared they possibly just hadn't been trained correctly or not given enough time to clean these rooms.

Room 112 such a good experience. Visiting from Japan.

Came in from overseas, everyone especially Mahesh who runs the front office took wonderful care of me during my stay. laundry on site, ground level makes easier access for me and my wheelchair. Coffee everyday all day. Covered parking in case you need it. Would love to stay again.

Reasonably priced lodging with wonderful customer service!

A friend on mine has been staying at the Briarwood Suites for the past week. His room is clean and comfortable and has all the amenities necessary for a comfortable extended stay. In addition to that, this motel has amazingly warm and responsive staff; they have gone far above and beyond expectations to make sure his stay is pleasant. A special thank you to the host Mahesh, who has provided a great deal of individualized attention.

My name is Tyra Frazier. I am dealing with a dv situation and was immediately housed here for two nights. I enjoyed the positive vibes especially having dealt with so many negative ones in a week. The rooms are very spacious and welcoming. The front desk made sure to smile and bid me good morning. Mahesh had coffee ready every morning and always said hi to my one year old son. If it wasn't sunday i would ask for another voucher just for one more night.
