Lovely surprise
Linda Bon 02/11/2016 14:01Popped in this place on the off chance and was very pleasantly surprised at the lovely surroundings inside. The staff were very friendly and Richard the owner came to introduce himself. Finding out the food was home made we decided to try a 2 course meal on a very reasonable offer. The service was excellent and the food was outstanding far better than we'd hoped for. Anyone in the are or passing by, do pop in its well worth it

My parents booked it as I live away and their usual pub was closed for the week and they have previously had a good experience here. My parents did book a table for 9 but when we got there they had only laid out for 8. It wasn't a problem and soon rectified. The wine was lovely and the starters. Although, only problem was we arrived at 6.00pm and one item was off the menu and only one of the pie left. It wasn't an issue as no one wanted these. Although, 3 of our party ordered the steak and the sirloin and Rib eye was off leaving only the Rump. Although, the waiter was excellent and the food that we had was good so it made up for it. Although, a few people's chips were cold and one of the Steaks as it might have been left out while cooking the rest but other than that it was a good meal. My parents have booked another meal out here in December.

Jane Con 29/10/2016 23:49So welcoming. Food gorgeous. Service first class. Super dog friendly. Landlord and staff couldn't have been nicer. Room very comfortable and fantastic shower. Ideal base. Quiet location but easy to get to. Clean and decorated well. Thoroughly recommend.
Good food and service
Adrian Lon 22/09/2016 11:154 night stay. Nice room but a bit cramped with a third bed in the room. (But it was a late booking.) Food very good, great chips, and you would have to book for a weekend table. Close to the road so a bit of traffic noise. Only comment was the room was not cleaned for two days. But would rate the hotel and food highly.

Rugbyfiendon 20/07/2016 17:56Old school landlord who's attention to customer care is second to none. Ate the sea bass on my last visit that could only described as "superb" only possible critism the portion was enough for two! Partly my fault for ordering extra veg that was also cooked to perfection
