What People are saying

Hotel used by National Holidays as a base for coach tour of the Cotswolds & Warwick Castle

David Bon 22/08/2017 08:30

The room was dirty. Each morning we asked for bathroom ventilation grills to be cleaned due to being blocked. Bed linen was clean. WIFI in reception was "down" for two days which was inconvenient. The nearest pub/shop was half an hour's brisk walk, although local bus services did run between them. Food was plentiful, a carvery deck and other meals each evening. Deserts were replenished with what appeared to be Costco gateaux when requested. Drinks at the allocated meal time were expensive as happy hour did not begin until 7:00 pm. During happy hour, prices differed fro round to round.

Overnight stop from London to Oldham

For £33 a double room this was a total bargain. Ok so a lick of paint wouldn't go amiss but the room was clean and bed super comfy and I enjoyed a lovely soak in the bath. Most hotels don't have them these days. There was even a working phone in a room and a good hairdryer which wasn't hard wired into the wall (trusting!). The staff were really friendly and helpful. No frills, but if you like a bit of nostalgia and remember 'Crossroads' this place will definitely put a smile on your face. Thanks Coventry Hill from the four of us!! You deserve better reviews x

Good value

530mickon 18/08/2017 23:27

Although in places the hotel appears a little tired, in general it is good value. The room was large and clean with a good shower.
The hotel bar was always busy offering affordable meals that were served promptly. Unfortunately no puddings on the bar menu. The bar also offered an happy hour 7-9 for a number of drinks, personally I can vouch for a good pint of Tetley's.
Only problem with the bar meals is that there are no tables to eat the meals from. Not very good for the digestive system eating from the equivalent of a coffee table. There is a restaurant, but never tried it.

First ever time I have checked staright out of a hotel

Unfortunately tired is too nice a description of this hotel.
A victim of my own haste - good price, piccys looked ok on the site and it was jus round the corner from my meeting the following morning.
Receptionist was obv very happy in her job with a morose check in.
Room exteremely tired, then I found that there was wifi only in the lounge and bar. My mobile router was struggling to get a signal.
A neighbouring resident hanging out of his window shouting at his work collegues was the last straw.
Sorry, a low price, but the standard was woeful - avoid at all costs

Part of coach trip

Cec Lon 12/08/2017 18:06

Rooms more than adequate for a short trip, clean and tidy, fresh towels daily. Some road noise but nothing too bad. Food was very good, hot and plenty of choice, staff were continuously filling up food bar which was all buffet style. Bar area a bit tired and very small as there were 3 coach trips in as well as other people. Not much lounge area and Wi Fi was dreadful.
