Friendly cosy 2* hotel ..... lovely!
Roger Gon 22/09/2016 16:13I have used this Hotel many times for members of my sales team and also overseas visitors who wish to stay locally at a reasonable price! No, its not the Berested or Penny hill park .... but neither are the prices!!
This was very popular with my team as they felt "at home" in the rooms and with the staff. The food is good and the location is quiet! It is what it is ... very nice for the price around here!
Late booking
DRyderboyon 29/05/2016 10:53A period property about to come under the bulldozer, the manager was polite, worked in reception, did breakfast by himself the following morning, was polite and welcoming, and the room and bathroom were clean but the feeling that this is a business about to close in a couple of weeks seemed to permeate the building. The bed was very spongy, having seen better days, there was no air conditioning and this was a weekend when it would have been preferred, so the choice was either have window open or closed, however traffic noise (which I am not used to meant that'll this choice was more restricted), so overall it did seem expensive for what it as, having said that it was a room that was available at the same time the PGA was on at the nearby Wentworth, and was well situated for Ascot so I can see why in its heyday it would have been a welcome stay.
Reasonably priced, adequate accommodation
PipC2014on 05/11/2015 14:51The Brockenhurst must have been a charming hotel in its heyday (the 1970s?). It now needs major refurbishment, as it is looking very tired. The shower was very feeble and when my husband opted for a bath instead, it took about 15 minutes to fill. The wifi worked on arrival - mid-afternoon - but was not working either late at night or early the following morning. Having said that, the staff were pleasant, the location is good, the room was well-equipped with coffee/tea-making facilities, an iron and ironing board and a hairdryer. It was clean and the bed was relatively comfortable. It was also extremely warm - possibly too warm and the heating remained on all night. Given its location, the hotel is very reasonably priced. We did not have breakfast, as we had to leave before it was served (from 7.30 a.m.).
Charming
AnnelCorkon 18/10/2015 10:19We recently spent three nights at this hotel. It is a period property with bags of charm and quirkiness. The quest lounge and bar areas were very comfortable with daily newspapers provided. The dining room is pretty and the continental breakfast was more than adequate with a wide range of cereals, yogurts etc. whilst the bedrooms were dated it suited the old world charm of this hotel. Jenny and Charles were great hosts.
Traumatic
Flynnoooon 16/09/2015 13:151. Realised one of the twin beds I was sleeping in was stained with stale , possibly elderly urine from the pungent smell . No mistake
2. Shower did not work . No intention of making bodily contact with bath
3. Noisey
4. Terrible customer service
5. Exactly like " hotel Bella " from famous only fools and horses episode.
6. Good sense to not even contemplate breakfast .
7. Check in procedure from 1930's Berlin .
8. Disgusted .
