Not within walking distance
amysE2967MGon 16/07/2017 19:22I think my biggest complaint was that is was not within walking distance of downtown Gatlinbug. It needs updated as does the pool. There's a musky smell when you enter the lobby as well as the hotel room.
Bugs with no wifi
deborahhM8590PMon 16/07/2017 15:19Never was able to get wifi in the room. Would have to go to office area to get wifi and sometimes the pool area. There were flying ants in the room. Although there were only a few bugs it was each day of the stay. Yes, new bugs each day. Told office about it but they didn't seemed surprised. Can live with a few bugs. The pools were good. One had a waterfall and multiple slides with a heated one too which the kids like but beware that the markings of the depths is a little deceiving atleast that is what the kids told me. Breakfast was pretty good but what I found amusing was there was a young breakfast attendant that had a tip jar out but you would have thought she was a guest (except for the name tag) in tag she was reading a book behind a counter and ignoring everyone. The location is really great because it is just beyond the Gatlinburg traffic but on the trolley line. The restaurants in walking distance were also very good.

Gabriel Con 16/07/2017 13:23Beat up hotel. No WiFi. accross the property. Outdoor litghts around the pool werw mostly off. The bed had a terible hard mattress. Breakfast was basic. Too bad the amenities don't match the nice location by the creek.
Wonderful visit
LindsayNjoe429on 15/07/2017 14:07We came to Gatlinburg for a short stop on our way up north to visit family and this place was a great place to stay. The rooms were clean and the staff was very friendly. We had a wonderful porch where you could enjoy the creek and nature. Our kids enjoyed the pool and play area as well. The rooms are nice but they are a little dated. It didn't bother us though, and we weren't in our rooms all day anyway. From what I've read, they are working on renovations. We thought it was a wonderful place to stay and affordable for our short visit. Hope to be back again :)
Disapointing. Expected better
jinxedagainon 14/07/2017 18:59We stayed at the Brookside in early July this year for a family reunion. In the past, our entire family would share 8-12 rooms and we always had a great time and everything was perfect. This time, there were 4 families in separate rooms. 1 family had to leave due to a filthy room, and 2 other families were not happy with their rooms. Dirty, dusty, and just not kept up. The breakfast was usually almost gone by the time we would get down there at 8:30ish, and there was moldy bread in the box. The evening registration person did not even have the manager's phone number for complaints or for contact. Very unprofessional. She did what she could but her hands were tied.
