lovely hosts
Cecil Hon 30/07/2017 20:19We just wanted somewhere to stay in Conwy for one night and this venue had excellent reviews. Unfortunately they only had one room available - their smallest - but ok for us for the night. The owners were very up front about it's size, but we managed ok. Probably not our choice if staying for a longer period - you would definitely prefer a larger room. I think they market it as a single room, but it has a double bed. No complaints though from us.
The room was clean and tidy, with a very small en-suite to match. Views over the back. Be careful if it is a concern, as other reviewers have noted, there are a lot of steps, so do your homework if you have any mobility concerns.
We managed to park on the road in one of the two spaces, so we didn't have to negotiate the steep drive up and round the back to the car park.
Only a five to ten minute walk down into town - longer on the way back up. Plenty of places to eat and drink, plus the castle and other places if you have time to see them.
Breakfast was very good, tasty cooked breakfast plus all the usual things one would expect.
Lovely hosts - I hope we can find the time to make a return visit and bag one of the larger rooms !
A Great Value!
Catharine Son 27/07/2017 05:02I will repeat what I see in so many other reviews -- that Jill and Andrew were delightful hosts. The room was nice and the breakfast was tasty. If we lived in the UK, we would be frequent visitors. Bryn Derwyn is very convenient to Conwy; we were able to walk to town for dinner and the pub, and this area of Wales just beautiful. The only word of caution is that it is located on quite a hill, which might be challenging for some.
Excellent
Mukumaon 26/07/2017 17:02Thank you Gill and Andrew for another beautiful stay. Best sausages ever! If in Conwy, this is the place to stay. A mere five minute walk to the castle and the restaurants and pubs. The rooms are very clean and cosy. Just beautiful.
Lovely B&B
Sean Bon 03/07/2017 23:19We stayed last night, after booking the same day. We had a wonderful welcome from Jill, the room was lovely. We appreciated the additional touches like bottled water and mints, the breakfast was lovely using local produce. The location is pretty much in central Conwy, a 5 minute walk into the town. A lovely B&B, thank you.
Perfect B & B
Debbie Mon 29/06/2017 14:11We had a lovely weekend at this B & B. The Hosts were lovely.
The room was spotlessly clean and had nice little touches on the complimentary refreshment tray .
Bathroom small but adequate and some lovely complimentary toiletries.
Breakfast is delightful, with our lovely host on hand offering extra tea, coffee & toast if we ran out. Cereals, juice etc & full "welsh Breakfast on offer (including Kippers if you prefer!)
There is a small fridge on the landing which had fresh milk to use if you should run out :) Lovely view from our room (5)
We landed in Conwy on what turned out to be a busy weekend as the town was hosting a Medieval Tournament.
Lots of events to see & participate in, including the jousting on the filed 100 metres from the hotel. Shame the Tourism Information website did not advertise this event???
B & B has steep steps to the entrance and would probably not be suited to anyone with walking disability. Parking is free with spaces at the front & rear of the property. thank you Andrew & Jill
