Terrible Place to stay

I needed a place to stay because we had an emergency with our house, and this place ended up being Dirty and in disrepair. I will never stay here again, and do not recommend this place to anyone at all.

Walked into the room and was overpowered by the scent of deoderizer. The couch had a myriad of unknown and unappealing stains. The toilet leaked each time it was flushed and soaked the bathroom floor. No working drain in the jacuzzi, just a rubbermaid kitchen sink stopper. Turned on the Jacuzzi water and it came out brown, at which time 2 small spiders crawled out of one of the Jacuzzi jets.

Immediately went to the front desk and requested a refund of our $116 rate for the night. Ended up getting a much nicer room at another local hotel for the same price.

Not acceptable for any hotel on any budget.

This motel needs an update but it is a good location for the state fair and was clean. I didn't sleep very well and once even checked to confirm the window was closed due to the loud trains nearby. Breakfast was simple but nice. I would stay there again for a cheap night in Hutch.

What should be expected from a cut rate place

Clean chair, sheets, towels, surfaces. Even if some things are old and in need of paint and touch-up type work.
Amenities - small coffee maker, microwave, fridge/freezer, iron/board.
Expected - TV decent for room, not smallest I've seen, AC worked well.
Breakfast - simple but enough, likely run out if really full, but I think they knew how many would likely eat.
Railroad tracks behind property, but on opposite side from them and AC running, didn't hear and light sleeper. Or they didn't run all night.
Major road at front on our side, AC again helped, but some of my wakeups could have been from a noisy car.

When you get a rate near the bottom of the local rates - you don't expect much - this was better than expected in several of the above items.

I stay at the budget host inn every year for the fair and it is always a great stay the owners are wonderful people which makes all the difference in the world to me and the housekeepers are all very nice and keep the rooms really clean. This year they had all new king size pillow top beds that are so comfortable and what appeared to be new carpet and furniture in our room. It was an amazing stay as always with reasonable prices and I will continue to stay there every year. Thank you Budget host for making our stay so great. The Cullums
