Very rude management!
Ureniaon 18/02/2016 21:18Stayed here on a Friday night. The desk clerk was very sweet and helpful. Seen no bed bugs or roaches. The rooms are a bit dated but we felt comfortable. The next morning we decided we wanted to stay another night. WRONG! My fiance' went in to pay for that night(he is a black man). The manager told him no...that all the rooms were pre-booked, I went in to pay as well and he was very rude to me and told me to get off the property! I looked around the parking lot and only seen 4 cars including my own. He came to our room started pounding on the door repeatedly while we were packing up getting ready to go. I honestly believe he is racist because we are an interracial couple. He himself seemed to come from another race and country. I would not recommend this place to anyone! We have never been treated this way by a business establishment! Drove back by later that evening only seen 6 cars in the parking..He told us all rooms were booked. They must have 40 plus rooms...most all were vacant! This man has issues! Very nasty and aggresive! He needs to be taught good customer service skills.
Horrible customer service
Pb163234714on 13/10/2015 19:04Booked 4 rooms, cancelled our reservations and then was charged for two no shows claiming I had booked 6 rooms instead of four. Refused to refund charges. Combative and no respect for the good faith of the customer. Do not go here!
Bad experience
Kenny Won 15/07/2014 22:44I went to Circleville, OH during the weekend for a learning seminar and had the following unpleasant experience at the Budget Host Inn there.
I reserved a room on Thursday, July 10, 2014 via Expedia.com for a room at the Budget Host Inn in Circleville, OH on US 23. I informed that I would be a late check-in, after midnight. Arriving at 1:30am, I saw that I needed to enter into a side, night entrance door and ring a bell for an attendant. I rang the bell and waited several minutes; when noone came to the door, I rang the bell again and waited. Again noone came. I could see through the front windows that noone was in the lobby or at the front desk. The clock behind the front desk was at 1:40am when I decided to leave. I did not phone the hotel, as I could see that noone was inside. I left and went to a different hotel which cost an additional $40/night over what I was expecting during my trip. When I noticed that I had a pending transaction on my debit card on Saturday, I went to the hotel and explained the situation. Chris was behind the desk and he called in another man to help. They were not rude, but also not helpful and told me I would probably have to get a refund through Expedia. They also told me that they had cameras and that they could check to see if I was actually there. They were not helpful. Since the charge was still pending, I decided to wait until it was no longer pending and proceed from there. On Tuesday, July 15, 2014 I found that the amount for $67.89 had been charged to my account. I called and asked for the manager. The man on the line ( he would not give his name) was combative before I had my entire story told. He said he was there during the time I was saying I arrived. He asked why I did not call the hotel, I said I did not call because I could clearly see through the window that noone was in the desk area. He said that since I did not call to cancel that he was charging me the fee as a "no-show". I told him that I did indeed show and that noone was there. The man was rude and disrespectful. He did not allow me to speak and kept interrupting me. When I spoke about taking my complaint elsewhere, he continued to argue and told me that he was going to be charged by Expedia and he was not going to incur the charge and was not going to refund the charge even though I did not stay in the room. He kept insisting he was there and that because I did not call to cancel, I would have to pay the charge. He was very upsetting, loud and combatitive from the start of the conversation.
nice staff, but bed-bugs
alliecatirishon 27/06/2013 17:48Never felt compelled to offer a review before, but y'all gotta know: I read reviews here and, based on the manager's reply to poor reviews earlier, and a recent review of it being fine, I went for it. Really liked the place, despite the stretched and stained carpeting -- has a 'homey' feel to me; old-school and comfy. Desk to work at, table to eat on, exterior doors.... but later, when I got in bad to read, the bed-bugs started showing themselves. I had checked the mattresses and box-springs before taking my stuff in and it was all clean and bed-bug-free...I thought. As I sat there reading, bed-bugs of different sizes started coming out, which I'd think means there were a few generations of them ?
The night-staff guy was helpful and called the owner to clear giving me a refund, so I could go elsewhere and get some sleep, and the owner told him to move me to another room and we'd deal with it in the morning. My understanding is that if there's bed-bugs, they are likely in other rooms as well, so I left anyway, knowing that without the refund I'd be in my car somewhere for the night.
Next day I went back and the very kind woman told me that the boss wouldn't be in till Monday (2 days later) and when I told her I live too far to come back, she made a different call and got approval for the refund (thank you!).
All this to say: I understand that bed-bugs are hard to keep up with for a property owner, the room itself was just fine, and the on-site staff were great. Yet, I did not feel that the boss was hospitable or helpful in his response - I felt brushed off. A shame, because I had thought I'd stay there when I return for a week in October.
Modest hotel with great staff and very affordable rates.
NewjerseyWrighton 15/11/2012 19:38I stayed here for 3 good nights. I was very pleased with the front desk the lady was eager to help. The rates were very reasonable the room was clean furnished with all the front basics. I recommend this hotel to anyone traveling around circleville Ohio.
