I was heading down a day early on a motorcycle trip. The motel I had already booked for my stay didn't have any rooms available so I booked here.

When we got to the motel a had to go to the bathroom really bad. The owner / manager gave me the key to the room so I could use the bathroom before checking in which was really appreciated.

The room was clean and very comfortable. No complaints there. There was a fridge and microwave in the room but no little coffee maker. That sucked because they didn't have coffee available until the Continental Breakfast in the morning. The Continental Breakfast was mini donuts and coffee that you had to take back to your room.

The bathroom and room were old, dated a worn. The sink stopper didn't keep the water in the sink. It took a long time to get hot water. When it did arrive you did have plenty.

The room was inexpensive because I booked it in the morning of the night we would be staying and got the non cancellation rate.

It would be nice if they had a little coffee pot in the room. Better Continental breakfast, update the rooms / bathroom and fix the peeling wallpaper.

I would stay here again for a night for the low rate because it was clean. It was less expensive than the other motel I had booked and stayed at which was nicer so you can't expect as much if they aren't charging as much. Dollar for dollar the other motel I booked in Clearfield was a better value and would book it again for a multi night stay.

Cheap & clean--ask for a room without neighbors

First room I was given smelled moldy. I have asthma, so I called the desk and they gave me another room. This one smells slightly of smoke (although a non-smoking room, it's adjacent to a smoking room), but it wasn't bad, and not worth the hassle to switch again. Owners are very nice. The heating/AC unit wasn't coming on, so I went to call again, but the phone didn't work. I used my cell to call, and a lady came right away to show me the thermostat on the wall, and that the other unit could be switched from "Heat" to "AC" on a wall switch to work. She checked the phone, but I told her I wouldn't need it. The room is dated, but VERY clean! Only real irritation is hearing the TV/music/voices/footsteps in the next room. Hope they'll get quiet soon so I can sleep! Wifi goes in and out--mostly out. But for $38 ($42 with tax), it's not a bad deal.

Inexpensive quality

I checked in around 6, found it in a coupon book and it was very well priced, The clerk was nice and the check-in was easy enough. The room was small and dated, but I don't need a large room, just a comfortable bed, hot shower and good hvac. Also, I like a good WiFi, a microfridge and TV, which came with the room. I was very satisfied with my accommodations. A few days after I check out the owner called me and said I'd left my power word for my laptop and did I want him to send it to me of throw it away.......NOT!! I asked him to send it to me and he has, although I haven't received it yet. I fully endorse this place.

Very good place for one night

My husband and I stayed here to go to the 100 mile garage sale in July. It was a great rate and Robert was very kind and accommodating. The rooms are not fancy and outdated, but they are very clean and comfortable. It worked out perfectly for one night and I would stay again if coming back next year.

Budget Inn Clearfield

A comfortable, efficient place to stay just a few turns off of I-80. Like many smaller motels, the WiFi is a little shaky, but I was impressed by how spacious the room was (there was even a fridge and a microwave). There is a restaurant called The Arrowhead next door, but I didn't venture in. The staff are friendly and helpful.
