Nice place, not the best attention
Martin Hon 03/04/2017 15:52The place is quite nice, and the rooms are comfortable. There's a living room, a small patio, and a kitchen that you can use, and the location is allright too. The attention was not the best, though. We got a special offer for S/20 per person and somehow that made us 'lower-class guests', so we had to constantly fight for the smallest things (towels, a clogged toilet, salt in the kitchen...)
Very friendly staff, good location and affordable.
Chris Bon 30/08/2016 23:58We stayed for a total of five nights in two separate rooms (before and after completing the Salkantay trek). The staff were very helpful and always attentive. The room was large and comfortable, cold at night, but that's standard for Cusco at this price range. The bed and pillows were comfortable and the room well appointed and clean, with hot water and clean linen. The breakfast was good, with cereal, bananas, eggs, bread, jam, juice and hot drinks. We left our bags safely and securely in their storage room during the Salkantay trek. At the end of our stay we had to wait for a night bus and the staff were happy to let us stay in the common room until we needed to leave, and ordered a taxi for us too. Good wifi in the bedrooms and common areas. The location is good, ten minutes from the main square up a hill. The price was approx S100 per night including breakfast.
Very spacious, good breakfast, home away from home
Irene von 15/08/2016 21:05Not the closest place from the main square and down a steep street, but definitely worth the effort! Our room was down the back of the property and was very spacious, also the bathroom. It felt very private and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was very nice too, with bread, cereals, fruit and eggs. Due to the thick colonial walls of the building, the wifi signal is not everywhere very strong.
Great value and wonderful staff!
vistorvistoron 18/07/2016 16:09Arrived at 5am in the morning (nightbus), checked in, left our bags in a holding room, and were also given a bed in a separate (private) "resting room" where we slept until 10 when we could check in to our own room, very nice!
Our room was spacious, had a great view, very clean and yes: there was a heater + duvets + hot showers! Nights were not very cold.
There is a nice movie/chill out room, a nice courtyard and a community kitchen. Location is great and safe (5 mins from plaza de armas).
Breakfast: Coffee (brew!), Tea, Yoghurt, Cereal, Juice, Eggs.
We loved this place.
Quiet and decent but day staff are lazy
Bob Son 15/05/2016 02:22The hostel is in a quiet location (for Cusco!) up a steep slope from the plaza. After staying in a louder, more central place, I was happy to do the walk for the better sleep!
Plus points:
- Room is simple, rustic but clean
- Lady who works at night speaks excellent English
- Good shower
- Storage
Negative points:
- Shared bathroom some distance away and across a courtyard
- I never did find out if breakfast was included. I suspect it was but the day staff ate it.
- The day staff are lazy. The shared toilet wasn't cleaned for 4/5 days and they top up the toilet paper rarely - so take your own. Generally, the pair of them often hang around the kitchen making themselves food and playing on their phones.
Overall, I was happy with my stay. I just think the owner needs to give the day staff a big boot until they sort out their attitude and work ethic.
