Pathetic food.
sanjul_dhon 13/08/2017 17:51The property looked promising from outside hence we walked in there for lunch, the food was simply horrible and I would not recommend this play to anyone. A simply kadhai paneer was spoiled in so ways , completely bland and uncooked. The service too ages and made us wait almost half an hour. Can definitely be avoived.
Monsoon Magic
GKRanaon 01/08/2017 15:26Nature lovers paradise. I live in Delhi a modern concrete jungle and went for a two day trip to Orchha. I loved the architecture- It's a quaint town 5 hrs from Delhi and so easily done by the Shatabdi train over a weekend. I did not get great reviews about the hotel at first but anyway decided that we should stay by the river and it was the best decision I made. It's a heritage hotel we were told by the guide and what I loved the most was the plants and greenery in the hotel. The property has four terrace gardens and all one can hear are the birds see butterflies and yes insects too.( I don't like the latter part but we have to take it if we like plants). There are many many birds and langurs. The reception told me that they do tea outside by the river but I only figured it out on the second day and it rained in the evening so I couldn't but I sat in the lawns and walked down to the river and listened to my iPod as I dipped my feet into the gentle river- it was magical! They get milk from their own dairy in the property it’s full fat milk -which was so cool and not out of a carton which I am used to. The rooms I agree need improvement as does the service but it's not as bad as the other reviews suggest and for the price I got from the reception it was a steal. They need to put curtains in the windows facing the river as light wakes you up early besides that for me two days went by so quickly. I do hope to return and enjoy the tranquility again.
an oasis
yatrawallahon 12/06/2017 16:43I've stayed here three different times - the perfect trip away from delhi - easy to get to on the morning shatabdi you can leave delhi at 6 and be in orchha by noon. The rooms are lovely and quiet, the food is fine for vegetarians, and, get this, you can swim in the Betwa, one of the only rivers i;ve felt comfortable swimming in india. Orchha itself is a marvel, dreamy, with old forts and monuments to explore, and the best tikkis in india at Mamam-ji's on the path up to the temple.
Pool empty, card machine not working - services misrepresented
graciej78on 08/06/2017 17:04Stayed for a night with my daughter and friend a few weeks ago. The pool was empty which we were not informed about nor was any apology made. Secondly the card machine was not working, they blamed poor connection, whilst this is possible it just happened , they made no effort to rectify it which was very inconvenient. We were also told wifi was not working (it only works in lobby anyway) when it was which we didn't like. The hotel itself appears old and uncared for although it has lovely garden, very well cared for , and there is one guy who works there, an older guy who was wearing a head covering/turban who was very kind and took us to the river, and gave us lovely bunches of flowers from the garden. The food is ok, meals not included in price. Staff do not speak good English apart from one man. A lot of staff there but seem to spend time watching us. Hotel has some interesting monuments in the grounds. If they reduce staff and services off season they should make this clear.
Feel royal and pampered.
JDR0Xon 30/03/2017 10:21We were greeted by the manager of Bundelkhand Riverside Resort at the Jhansi Station and directly taken to the Jhansi Fort. From there, we were escorted to the Bundelkhand Riverside Resort -Orccha and were welcomed warmly. The Palace/Resort was nothing less than royal and luxurious. Walking in the Resort was like time traveling -with the curated art pieces and detailing everywhere. We rested for a while and were offered to be served tea by the riverside and as we opened our balcony we had a pristine view of the flowing Betwa River and its only a dream to sit midst the flowing river n having tea. The Resort definitely has a heart and soul to it. Its a perfect way to explore Orccha Fort as you get a sense of being the guests of the royals. Every evening the folk music is played at the resort for the guest and the pool is lovely. Its magic to surrender oneself in the Palace/Resort and be one with the nature.
