What People are saying
Paradise
Louise Aon 22/06/2017 03:47We stumbled upon this place as walking down the beach. Having seen it before but not really thought to go in as some hotels are not happy to let people who aren't staying (particularly when accompanied by a local) to use the facilities or as in past experience charge you a lot to do so.
Not here. The staff where welcoming, pleasant, polite and professional.
Reasonably priced food and drinks. Food was amazing.
Beautiful pool and clean surroundings definitely worth a visit

Beach Problem solved!
Mary Don 27/04/2017 15:11We live in The Gambia and recently have gone to Sunset Beach for a drink or lunch. There was indeed a lagoon which arose because another hotel for whatever reason dammed Kotu Creek without permission. Great for bird watching but not for accessing the beach. However in the last 2 weeks the Creek has been unblocked and there is now good access to the beach. So the previous comments regarding this are now void!!!
What A Surprise!!!
Raymond Son 11/04/2017 10:53We have watched this hotel transform over the past 4 years to something which is now spectacular, by comparison with the other hotels in the vicinity.
We have never stayed at the Sunset Hotel but the management invited us to have a look around during our recent visit to Gambia. A totally new transformed glass-fronted reception area, two brand new swimming pools and a completely new re-built function/bar/restaurant area.
The grounds have been miraculously upgraded with all of the accommodation units nestled in amongst beautiful shrubbery and an array of colourful flowers. If I was going back to Gambia I would certainly want to stay at this resort.
Disappointingly, since we were last in Gambia in December 2016, they have suffered from a reconfiguration of the beachfront due to high tides which has eroded the beach front of the Sunset, as you will see from the photographs. However, don’t let this put you off as we were assured that due to the recent change within the Gambian Government, they are employing a Dutch company to re-model the beach back into its original condition during the next few months.
To all Trip Advisors, I would highly recommend the Sunset Hotel as from our short inspection the standards are far higher than the other adjoining hotels where we have previously stayed.
brillient hotel
shirebrook2010on 03/04/2017 15:58we have just got back from a great holiday in the sunset beach hotel.we stayed from the 14/03/17 to the 28/03/17.we was bb and the breakfast was very good eggs bacon pancakes porridge fried potatoes fruit juice yogurt honey cerials jam the list is endless.the gardens are just beautiful very well looked after by the gardeners . all the staff from manager to pool boys was always happy to help we didn't even have to turn our sun loungers round the boys said it is our job we felt like royalty.there is just a few things I would change and this is not a complaint ,the bungalows need a lick of paint a bit brighter than whats on walls now,tea and coffee maker in rooms ,better lighting because it was quite dim, renewing the bath towels as they was a bit on small side.they should drop the prices in the bar as well they was overcharging for cans of diet coke 125 dalasis which is over £2 a can so I bought some from shop for 50 dalasis a big diferance.
