Probably the best hotel in town

The hotel is located at the Volga embankment yet in the vicinity of industrial zone. The ply wood factory is right across the street. We all believe the lumber processing factory is not bad for environment. At least the smell was rather pleasant. Enough of this.

City center is only 5 min walk. 7 - if you walk slowly.
Volga embankment is 3 min away.
Kostroma is not really a huge place.

What everyone should be aware of is an unexpectedly good in-house restaurant. Usually such restaurants are of relatively poor quality. But this one offers a good variety of dishes which definitely could not be pre-cooked and then micro waved.
There is no point in describing every one of them. By the time you reach Kostroma the menu could get modified. We spent 3 days in town and had three lunches so we had a chance to taste nearly every dish and they ALL were very good.

I would also recommend in-house sauna (USD 33 p/h), clean, roomy and large Jacuzzi full of big bubbles.

The rest is quite standard (friendly helpful staff, clean rooms, payment card are accepted, etc. etc), but the price is very reasonable. Highly recommended.

One complaint – keep the tonic water stock.
