What People are saying
Accesible to everything
Lulu_Barceloon 22/12/2016 20:08We stayed at this hotel in April the night before we ended the trip. We loved the familiar vibe the place has. The crew, all older adults were extremely nice and helpful. As soon they found out what our native country was, the man at the front desk spoke some words in our language. After the check out, they kept our luggage for some hours before us heading to the airport.
The place is a very discrete building with a bunch of interesting and helpful places around, like markets, restaurants (both fancy and more humble), train stations and is very close to Ueno Park, the perfect spot to admire the Sakuras and enjoy the Hanami.
The rooms are modest, with everything we needed (amenities and that electric tea pot all the hotels in Japan have). The beds were comfy and the room was a little bit bigger than the regular business hotels of chains, but not the bathroom (no bathroom seems to have enough place in Japan for tall tourist people).
Extremely basic accomodation
locomotoreon 27/03/2015 12:52The hotel is about 5 minutes walk from Ueno Stations (both JR and Keisei): not easy to find in the maze of small streets.
My room (503) was really small, even by Tokyo standards.
Luckily I only spent one night there.
Definitely overpriced.
Dirty smelly place
Dom Son 21/10/2014 15:39I'm in the room right now. My room is 306. Its our second night here. When we first enter the room, there was no lighting system no insert key card nothing. Every thing is manual just like your average home. The room looks dirty. The carpet is sticky. The toilet smell like some very strong nasty chemical. We had to borrow a hair dryer from the front desk. There is a wierd rule of this hotel that they call it a curfew between 1230 pm and 6 am the door be locked. Our first morning the old lady yelled at my wife when we were leaving the old lady said "key". I was certain that we werent going to steal it! The hotel has the sad depress feel about it. We also smell cigarett smoke from the outside into our room.
Good location!
noranekobuson 27/09/2014 03:31First time stay here for one night. less than 10 mins walk from Keisei-Ueno and much more closer if you're from Subway (Ginza Line / Hibiya Line) Building quite old but still ok. Front will be close around 12:00-14:00(if I'm not wrong). If you arrive that time you may don't see anyone. Hotel really near to Ameyoko just walk.
But, the hotel have curfew time 24:00-06.00, person who want to leave hotel early please be aware.
Served its purpose
Andrew_Grimmon 20/07/2013 10:49I only stayed there for one night. I'd just flown in from Sydney, and the next morning, I was heading out to Tohoku. It served my purposes very well.
I found it a little hard to find the hotel, mainly because I found its map a little confusing.
The obaasans (grannies) working there were very friendly. I don't think they spoke much English, but I speak enough Japanese that I didn't have any problems.
