Terrible hotel, don't spoil your holidays there
Jalennaon 29/04/2017 20:15Almost anything this hotel promises on their website is not true. Before the trip i called twice there to get the taxi from Carthage Airport, Tunis, to the Hotel Byzance, as they promise to be possible on the website. Never got the taxi even if i gave them my flight number and arrival date and time as they asked.
In the hotel i did not get hair-dryer even if that is promised to get if you ask it. They said there is no hair dryer at all..
The rooms (we had two rooms there) were absolutely under any level, as the beds too.
Warm water in the showers came after a long waiting, and one day there was no water at all for a few hours.
Wi-Fi was available only in the reception lounge and some times in the corridors but never in the rooms.
We did not find the "private beach" at all. Sleeping was impossible during the nights while the night club music was so loud it kept us awake untill very early morning hours.
When the music stopped, the building workers started their work. Probably some kind of restauration construction was going on. Nobody told anything about this to us guests.
The breakfast and dinner were quite nice, so were the beautiful cleaning ladies, who really knew how to serve customers. We really appreciate them, they made staying there a bit easier.
Anyway we are not going to stay in this hotel ever again.
extremely nice staff
claudia don 27/04/2017 19:03the place is a very nice hotel with even nicer people - who work there and stay there. i had a room with beachview which was clean every time i returned from my walks. the town center is about ten minutes walking away, the food was okay, there were two local dishes offered beside meat, fish and something for vegetarian. even a friend who is vegan was happy with the offers.the pool was very clean and having the morning coffee on the terrace was nice.
the recepionists were VERY helpful, speak different languages and give their best to make you happy.all in all: if you want to spend a relaxed beach holiday with sparks of urban living - that's the place!
Dirty hotel with nice staff

Run down but good staff
Michelle Bon 03/08/2014 17:35I've stayed at Byzance a few times and the staff are always friendly and welcoming. It's not a hotel I would stay in as a tourist but it's good if you just need a place to sleep close to the city. The beach is also less than 5 minutes walk away.
The rooms are not very well maintained but the cleaner does her best to clean. Leaky toilets and dodgy plumbing, stained bath etc, however as I said you get a bed, running water, as well as a tv and place to put your clothes!
Better than expected
Delphine Bon 13/05/2013 14:39From the reviews I had read before to go, I thought that hotel was not very good. But we enjoyed a lot our stay. The room was big and nice, with a view on the beach. My husband heared noises but I not. The food was good (not excellent but according to the price it was ok). The swimming pool is great, not to much people with is appreciable. The staff is available, smiling and efficient. The massage are great. And the proximity to the city is a very good point. The negative point was the hotel was not completely ready for the new season. They were doing some refreshment on the hotel and the equipment on the beach was not yet set up.
